Unless its a complete disaster this coming year, like coaching incompetence, I think Dave and and Dan get a 3rd year together.

I suspect that Tepper is going to be overly patient with the staff.

That said, while I can see us only winning 6-9 games this year I see those games being played very differently this year. Last year was us getting beat up on. I think this year we play competitive ball and see another year of growth in our young players like Young, XL, Sanders

I dont expect playoffs this year, but I expect to see major steps forward on both sides of the ball.

I put our ceiling at 8 wins, and that assumes BY continues to develop in a positive fashion.  If he stagnates or regresses we'll be lucky to see 5 wins.  The defense will be better, but it's a dang long climb from 32 to average, let alone a legit playoff caliber defense.

Washington went from a 4 win team to 12 last year. Change of ownership, coaches and a franchise QB can have that effect.

5 is overly dramatic IMO but 10 isn't.

I really don't think they're THAT far away now. They can take a big step this season IF everyone stays relatively healthy. Need contributions from 3 rookies. FS, WR and Edge. Not all pro level play, but just solid NFL play. No friggin 2-3 year project players!

No one is looking for super bowls we just want more wins than last season. if you won 5 games with worse defense in NFL history, you should win 6-7 with a bad defense and sometimes you get luckily. 

this feels realistic

Parity is a thing in the NFL I dont think its shocking to see bad teams become good when you plug in a few key players and decent coaching. But sustained success is harder to achieve.

The Texans won a playoff game last year.

      No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.

      It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
