by definition that is getting fleeced

Let’s ask AI:

If I bought something for 1 dollar that isĀ really worth 99 cents, am I getting fleeced?

It depends on a few things:

Ā

  • What is it? If it’s something like a plastic spoon, a single sticker, or a small candy that usually costs a few cents when bought in bulk, then yeah—you might be overpaying.
  • Where did you buy it? A convenience store, vending machine, or tourist spot might charge $1 for the convenience or novelty.
  • Are you okay with the price? Sometimes people pay more for ease, packaging, or just not caring to hunt for a cheaper option.

Ā

Ā

So, are you getting fleeced? Maybe a little. But sometimes a dollar isn’t worth the hassle of worrying too much—unless it starts adding up.

Ā

What did you buy?

When the margins are already razor thin then partingĀ with an asset for less then it's worth is the epitome of getting fleeced

I hate that we are broadcasting this. This is like that snotty kid you knew in 3rd grade being like ā€œMy lunch is gross…wanna trade?ā€Ā
Ā

No Aiden. No one wants to trade their pizza for your nasty wheat germ and nutritional yeast flake sandwich. especially not after you told us how it gives you hives and smells like balls.Ā
Ā

we should be telling people how excited we are to have such a good pick. We are in the perfect position to pick any number of amazingĀ players. I don’t want to hear anything from Morgan unless it is how valuable the 8th pick is.Ā

In elementary school in the 80s Ā There was a kid that loved cafeteria corn Ā and I’d trade him my portion for his square pizza.Ā

We may not be broadcasting this, he said sources didn't say from which team.Ā  Most likely the Panthers are calling around and his source let him knowĀ

Some folks think that getting 99Ā¢ instead of $1 is getting fleeced.Ā

The issue is the person who is the one spending the assets has a history of making bad selections both as GM and an assistant GM.

Well that's makes moving down for more picks even better. More throws at the dart boardĀ

You can't put Fitterers picks on Morgan.Ā  Morgan has 1 year of history to look at and we don't know how any of last years draft picks will pan out

I don't buy that Morgan or anyone else said we'd give a F'ING discount. That's the most absurd thing I have heard all week. No front office is going to say that. Probably more networks trying to manipulate the draft.Ā

I CALL B. S.Ā

The moving up/down talk always goes crazy the closer it gets to the draft because it's the most interesting thing to talk about for the media heads. Once it gets to draft night none of these moves end up happening. I'd say the odds are still heavily in favour of us picking at 8.

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams andĀ our divisional opponents.Ā I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we canĀ spring a further surprise.Ā  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can ā€œforceā€ a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?Ā  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams ā€œdraft meā€. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.Ā
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
