I know that highlight reels are always ‘best of’ but this guy could be the real deal at TE.  Effective blocking inline and great hands across the middle of the field.  He could be starter in year 2.

If he can play like that in preseason he might battle his way into playing this season.

Yes please. He's not just a blocker, her had good hands. Certainly not a speed demon, but if her gets open and doesn't let the first tackler bring him down, he's all right in my book!

Big ND fan here.... Evans can and will block.  Those ND boys won't see the field if they can'r run block.  He's going to be like Will Dissey or Jake Ferguson.  If you keep out three TE's together you will have something cooking.  Sanders is the outlier, pure receiving TE.  TT and Evans are pretty similar that they play a solid all around game.  We got a good one if he can stay healthy

I honestly think the three tight ends we have make a complete group that complements each other enough that we don't need one to be a superstar for the TE room for the position to be of strength against any team.

I was just coming in to say that exact thing.

JT could be our TE1.

Evans could surprise - I may be the most surprised value wise with his pick (along with Scourton).  He has legit all-around Y/F/T usage ability.   Great blocker, great hands, some unexpected shiftiness for his size.

And I've always been a Tremble fan.  He's a great TE2 who has made plays and knows how to block.  He's not a world beater, but he fills his role very well.

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
