I believe he wanted to play here because it was so close to home. If he plays I would think it would be here to keep it easy in his family.

Well that's my point, if he couldn't make the initial 53 here, he probably knows that if he signs with us, it's as a locker room mentor and he probably won't play much, if not even just being inactive on game days.

If other teams are offering him a chance at real playing time, it's then which does he prefer, to be closer to his family or to actually get to play again.

I can see why he'd need to talk it over with them

AT also came back to play with Bryce.   You can't believe a goddamn word out of these guys mouths

lol I’m just going by what he stated when he was trying out for our team. He was driving to practice from his house. It’s really not worth arguing over though.

This is pretty brutal for Bryce Young. Thielen was the one receiver he had actual chemistry with and trust in. Getting into empty looks and giving Thielen two-way goes was how the Panthers sparked Bryce's turnaround

I thought he started to develop good chemistry with Coker over the last half of the season.

In fairness, AT missed several games last season.  And so did Bryce.  One would have to look specifically at games both of them played in to be accurate.

Just looking at the last two games, XL had 14 targets, Thielen 12 and Coker 9, so at least for the last two games, your assessment appears to be correct.

Very fair point re: when all 3 were playing at the same time.

Quick count of weeks 1, 2, 12 - 15, 17, and 18 (AT out 4 - 10, XL out 14, Bryce out three as well (3, 4, 6), week 11 was a bye) actually came out to AT 51, XL 46 over that period. AT was definitely Bryce's most reliable WR, but it wasn't like the ball was being forced to Thielen at the expense of XL's development.

EDIT: Got curious about Coker and the only game that AT + XL + Coker were on the field together were vs. DAL, @TB, and @ATL. Targets for those three games totaled out to for 19 for AT, 17 for XL, 15 for Coker.

Those AT numbers are going to likely go predominantly to TMac 🙏

    • I don't have a dog in this fight (I use an antenna and almost never miss the game), but I don't read tukafan21's post as defending the corporation. He just laid out the math.
    • Because it's not that bad, it is literally saving people money if they don't live near the team they root for and are able to get them on local TV every week. Do I wish it was cheaper? Sure, of course. But I can also objectively look at it and say it's saving me money compared to needing to go watch it at a bar ever weekend.   And before anyone says to just stream it, I did it for a while once Covid hit, partially because we were so bad so I didn't care about the problems with it, but it was just awful.  To begin with, sometimes they just flat out didn't work, sometimes the quality sucked, sometimes it would just buffer every 30 seconds and be nearly unwatchable. The $450 this costs for the season is a significantly better deal than the $180 I have to spend to watch Wrexham matches for the season.  That pass, you have to sign up for an individual team and you only get their games (and not even all of them sometimes).  At least with Sunday Ticket, you get every single non national or local game, which again, is amazing for fantasy football junkies.
    • I honestly don't think that was as true as most believed. Cam was a very efficient passer in Norv's system and again in his year in NE. I think we hurt him in his development and as an overall QB trying to tailor TOO much to his unique talents. The read option should've always remained a staple, but after year two the passing game should've evolved into a more typical modern day NFL passing offense vs. an obsession with chunk play deep ball setups.
