Bryce Young is a problem — what would you do if you were Dan Morgan?

The Browns wouldn’t do it

The browns are full of poo. They have him on the active roster because they wouldn't dare put him on the practice squad. Gonna be interesting what happens once watson comes back, they are just capitalizing off all the attention but it won't last long.

I hate this approach.

There's no guarantee you'll like anyone in the next Draft. You can't just pick a guy 'cos you need a QB. Which is why I advocate looking at the guys with NFL tape and trying to prize one of those away until you DO find the guy in the Draft.

But granted you're also happy to let Young play out the season, leaving us playing 10v11 all year, so there you go. Different strokes for different folks.

And there's no guarantee some other team's reject is going to be our prize. We've tried that a few times. I'd sooner bet on a draft pick than a veteran having a resurgence in Carolina at this point.

And yeah I think a big veteran QB signing as if this is a win now roster would be shortsighted

They need both next year. It's looking like PS Hooker and zip at this point. So just zip really

Per my post - I don't think a Trey Lance et al is going to be your franchise QB, but he gives you an opportunity to field a competitive team until you DO find your franchise QB.

Rolling the dice on the Draft is a crazy way to operate. Prize = force something open i.e. try to trade for the backup QB the host team actually like.

This idea that you're nowhere without a franchise QB is baffling to me. I'd say maybe 10 NFL teams have their franchise guy. The other 22 are settling or actively looking for the next guy. How many of those 22 are actively tanking?

The Steelers are running the corpse of Russell Wilson out there ffs trying to compete. You play to win the game.

    • This offense is like watching a slow bleed out when you think a merciful death has finally ended the suffering only to see a pinky flinch or hear a faint gasp of air creep from the lungs and through the dried out walls of a flaked throat, making you feel a sliver of hope and obligation to stay with the moribund patient on life support until it passes beyond the void and the undertaker begins his duties--usually around week 6.
    • https://www.nbcsportsboston.com/nfl/new-england-patriots/dont-hold-your-breath-gronkowski-says-he-approaches-seam-routes-with-no-fear/381799/?amp=1   Yeah, here is Brady, Gronk and the prime Patriots discussing the dangers and risk TE/slots face with seam routes.   you way too smart to be defending some of this bro  How did Renfrow get the rib injury and why wasn’t that classified a drop.  Go check the game day thread.  Entire board could ID that obvious one in real time.
    • Hospital balls are hospital balls.  I mean, someone just posted a NFL QB (who is pro Bryce) breaking down that exact throw where Bryce threw him into the S hit.  It was a hospital ball….and now Renfow got the rib injury to go along with it.   the Bryce defending is just on a complete different planet at this point.
