Podcast will the Panthers give Young 2027 option plus DC approach with Yoing

Recommended Posts

Portion on Young starts 17 min 11 seconds   Guy is too verbose but he does bring up some interesting points a

HL summary

1. states National media talking about the change in culture in Carolina and it will only grow as the option comes closer to Young

2  2027 option will cost $30 million for that year

3. Panthers will not pursue a QB early by trading up and mentions all the franchises that simply waited for the qb to fall successfully

4 believes, based on discussion with HL Exec person in Carolina, that Tepper continues to believe in Young     That Tepper has a picture of Tom Brady in his office  he believes Yoing might grow into that in Carolina (that’s laughable to me but whatever)

5. Dave C and Izik frustrated by early turnovers and offensive execution failures wasting  well designed plays so, DC changed his philosophy and approach  to establish the run  don’t do anything crazy    don't do innovative   plays early   Backs this up with comments from DC and BY plus, as he says ‘you see it on the field.’

Net. be efficient and execute then we will throw down the  field

6  Jets are number 10 defense against the run and the HC and DC will go all out to not be the next team with 200 yards

Net  panthers may have to win with passing and Young

^ for two weeks now the team has been leaking this and there it is.  If tepper wants him here and not allowing competition then we are fuged

Or, shockingly, he continues to develop and grows his game.

It's not just growing Bryce's game, it's also the coach growing the entire team's game. We need to be a smash-mouth running team. We're built in the trenches for it, we have the TEs for it and we damn sure have the running backs for it now.

If you can make that your bread and butter, then developing a point guard QB that can distribute short passes as an extension of the run game and once in a while burn the other team downfield when they creep up to eight in the box, then you've got one of the classic recipes for a winning organization.

Our defense... getting better. But holding the opponents under 30 isn't going to cut it. Hold them under 24 and we're showing progress. Under 20 and you become dangerous.

Special teams... started out rough with those bad tackle games, but it has swung about mightily.

I think we're onto something here, but we still haven't arrived.

Tepper thinks little Bryce is Tom Brady in the making... damn, if that doesn't track. LOLOLOL

Just wait. There's no pressing need to do anything right now. If Bryce continues to be an effective game manager, consider picking up the option to buy us more time. But no one should be surprised if he takes another slide when we don't have a RB putting up GOAT type numbers.

No one should be trying to recreate to draft the next Brady.  The chances of that ever happening or so slim.  Just try to build as strong of a roster as you can.

again, in theory he has run out of time, this is the year he was supposed to show something, no more excuses but he has 11 games to convince folks without a shadow of a doubt.  To date is been pretty meh if we are being honest.

And I thought his mechanics were going to get worked on in the offseason but so far he still has a messed base, throws off the wrong foot and still does the midget hop.  He will never become a top tier qb until he consistently cleans that up

I don't believe in Bryce to ever become a top 10 QB, but I do think it would be wise to pick up the option as long as he doesn't utterly collapse down the stretch (which wouldn't surprise me).  The 2026 QB class is weak and there is no guarantee we will be in a good spot to pick a QB in 2027 either.  And $30m is a lot cheaper than most free agent options (however many there are).
