Man you gotta give Canales his props. This dude supposed to be a qb guru and out here pulling out wins with somebody who clearly doesn't fit what he wants to do. For a Panthers team thats been so bad for so long you cant really ask for more.

Agreed. Morgan also appears to have done very well in the 2025 draft. I feel like we're headed in the right direction for the first time in 7 years. QB questions remain. We obviously need to bring in some competition

is this really outcoaching? because of the choosing a side thing? that was a decision made well before the game im sure

he doesn't touch the defense which shut down one of the best offenses in the league

he settled for a 50 yard field goal with a rookie kicker to win

he won with the RB he refused to play for two weeks

i dunno kinda feels like he just sorta kramer'd into this win

Isn't it past your bed time?

like green bay had 4 red zone possession and came away with 6 points

sorta seems like canales is just kinda there

So you're giving Evero credit for limiting the points scored but blaming Canales for the amount of times they were allowed in the red zone? Interesting.

doesn't canales make the game plan?

if his plan was to shorten the game to limit GB scoring opportunities, he still needs to put together an offense that actually can score.

Panthers had 13 points going into the last play of the fourth quarter. it just so happens that GB poo the bed all game, or Evero's defense did their job better than he did.

All Canales does is coach the offense. it's been poo for most of the season, it just turns out today their usual production was enough to win because of what other parts of the team (that he doesn't control) did.

    • Okay then. To me that means Russell Wilson was Coryell. Because I see the proposition completely in the Russell Wilson punt/pass put it up for grabs mold. Count on the receiver to catch it or knock it down.    And the reason I thought that was the intent with Legette is the abysmal downfield game from 2023. As in, there was barely any.   I look at it as if… the result of a deep attempt isn’t as important as the opponent understanding they have to defend it. So I was all for some 50/50s. Coryell, Walsh whoever.  I do favor the Coryell approach personally but also very much value versatility, it doesn’t have to be strict. Just make the defense defend the whole field, however you do it. It has to include downfield throws.
    • Sold, or in the process of being sold. Could be either way. Consider this for a second... Last season, our defensive coordinator steered what many have called the worst defense in NFL history.  Canales would absolutely have been justified in firing him, and no one would have blamed him if he had.  But what did he do? He gave Evero another chance to come back and prove he could be better. Does that tell us something about Canales? I think it does. Now apply that to Bryce 😕
    • Canales has never been part of big YAC offenses in the NFL.  That’s not his tree.  Not in Seattle, Tampa or here.  Every O he has been associated with basically has been bottom half of the league in YAC.  That’s what Bryce needs to happen though  2 very different things….and very much gets into why the middle school QB doesn’t fit
