At least Clausen had a decent arm....

No he didn't and he never did. Bryce is who Clausen thought he was. Clausen just threw the balls Bryce won't because he was also dumber with nothing to lose without that first overall paycheck.

Clausen had the worst arm I have ever seen and tiny hands to boot. Bryce is just your typical NFL bust level talent without the hunger or need to earn a roster spot...yet

I think Dillon Gabriel may have the worst arm I have ever seen.

i dont think anyone remembers this but me but shortly after cam was named starter in preseason Clausen gave an interview where he got huffy and said something like "i was told this was going to be an open competition at QB and I don't appreciate being lied to."

sure thing buddy

I'm sure it was open. It's just that it closed one minute after Cam stepped on the practice field.

Jeff Lewis was the worst QB to ever wear the Panthers uniform. I have never seen anything like it.

And Seefart dumped Buerlein to make Lewis the starter. Proceeds to cut Lewis in the preseason, starts Weinke, the team wins the first game and then proceeds to go 1-15. Seefart gets canned and In comes Foxy and Jake and the rest is history.

Clausen was pure poo. Either you didnt witness it or memory has faded.

He won 1 game and threw 3x as many ints as tds for us.

Yeah. Bryce is pure ass but this is recency bias. The Clausen era was so fuging bad.

I'll throw Weinke out there too as another drafted QB that was worse than Bryce has been so far.

Speaking of, I wonder if many franchises can beat the pure shittiness of the Pickles/Weinke/Young combo of drafted QB's since 1995?

The Browns easily top this by how many and how shitty they were. Tim Couch, Brady Quinn, Brandon Weeden and Johnny Manziel all in the first round. Deshone Kizer in the 2nd, Charlie Frye and Cody Kessler in the 3rd. Also includes DTR and Spurgeon Wynn.

Three first round picks for Diddy Watson on top of that. Not to mention how many bad qbs from other teams got starts.

    • Rico is 0%. I think we would really like to have Mays back but we have a value in mind and aren't willing to overspend. I think someone probably will so I think the odds are pretty low but not zero.
    • Damn I liked A'Shawn too. This is basically a heads up we're planning on cutting you move.  Robinson wasn't the best but I loved his attitude and effort on the field. He held that entire dline together when Brown went down iirc..granted we finished that season as the worst rushing defense in modern NFL history.  If Wharton would have performed up to atleast half of his salary last season, I'd feel a little better about it. We do need that cap space though.
    • 13. Carolina is coming. The Panthers are well thought of around the league. Their "process" seems sound. I think their off-season will be very interesting to keep an eye on. They made the playoffs, but they're not yet knocking on the door. (Offense was 26th in EPA/play.) I think it's imperative they don't overestimate where they are in their build. They can't throw a ton of money around in FA to "make a run now". They need to be intentional about building a solid foundation. (IMO) And from what I know about the team... I think they will be. Sidenote: I have my eye on offense there, not defense. They HAVE to leave next season with a strong opinion on Bryce Young. They need to put pieces around him to do that. Can't be left wondering what he would have looked like with "better OL play" or "more pass catchers". They have to know. (That part is purely my opinion. No one told me that.) https://x.com/lindsay_rhodes/status/2027212533417869499?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
