  1. 1. Where does Bryce rank on the all-time draft bust list?

    • The biggest draft bust in the history of the NFL, considering the assets and picks given up to draft him.

    • He's no doubt in the Top 3 and headed for the biggest draft bust in history.

Factor in the trade and he's #1.

We traded...

2023: #9 and #61 picks

2024: #1 overall

2025: #39

Plus DJ Moore

All for a guy who is borderline NFL roster worthy. Were there even worse individual picks? Yeah, I'd say that Jamarcus Russell was worse. Ryan Leaf was worse. But factor in all the assets invested into that pick and it's not even close. The only reason Bryce has piled up all those starts is because of how bitter of a pill it is to swallow that trade being a bust. If Bryce had simply been the #1 overall pick without that massive trade I honestly think we would've moved on this past off-season. Two years had shown you everything you needed to see.

Ryan Leaf is way worse than Bryce for all time busts. Bryce is top 10 for sure though.

Very similar in terms of production and what they gave up (2 firsts and a second), but losing DJ Moore (which led to us reaching on XL) is the candle on that poo cake.

I would say that Russel and Leaf are worse QBs but they only cost their teams a first round pick. Bryce is still extremely shitty and cost the Panthers so much.

this is still the worst draft trade in NFL history, worse than Ricky Williams (who was still a 10k rusher and had a pretty good NFL career)

Nope. Chargers traded up for Leaf. Picks package was almost identical to our trade-up for Bryce. But we threw in our #1 WR.

The Bears fleeced us good and still ended up with a better Qb at the end of it all.

If this ain't the worse trade it's giving Minnesota and Hershsal Walker trade a run for it's money.

    • I like the approach Morgan takes in free agency where we fill holes with at least serviceable players and use the draft for BPA. So, I expect us to bring in a Safety, 1 really good LB and 1 kinda so so vet LB in case they lose faith in Wallace, an edge rusher, and with ickey's injury I think we will be the team that overpays for a LT like Rasheed Walker with the plan to move him to RT depending on Ickey's health and how long Moton wants to play.
    • Look at Rashid Saheed contract for 2024. He was more productive than Coker but probably a good reference. I think it was 1 year 5.2 million.
    • I expect the same strategy as we did last year. 3 year deals for guys around 25 to 28 years old and have the cap number be lower in 2026 and back load the contracts for 2027 and 2028 when our cap space is 100 million in 2027 and 360 million in 2028. With the years of terrible drafting this team had under Rhule and Fitterer and the lack of picks from all the panic QB trades has made it where we have few long-term contract commitments on the roster.  I'm sure there's probably some restructures and cuts we can make to give ourselves some more room this year if we need it but overall, our cap situation is in a good spot under Dan and Brandt.  I think we'll be pretty big spenders again this year. With us making the playoffs and being in a weak division I see Morgan being pretty aggressive this offseason.
