Had been a while since I saw him play just was wondering everyones thoughts on him.  I thought he looked pretty much the same, his low average per carry seems to be more of an oline run blocking issue it seems.  He has never been a huge push the pile runner thought he would benefit from more runs to the outside but he is on pace for 1000 1000 so cant say too much.  Also thought his post game interview was nice you could tell he still thought alot of charlotte and the players he played with.

Trading McCaffrey did nothing to help the Panthers get better.  Not only is he a great player, but he was a leader in the locker room and a great fan favorite.  Of course the Panthers squandered the draft picks. I would add DJ Moore to the list as well. What a stupid decision to trade him.

There has been so little talent on this team over the past five years that letting their best players go always seemed stupid to me. I would add Burns to that list as well. Getting a 2nd for Burns did not make the Panthers better because they still have to replace him.  Losing Luvu and getting outbid for him was stupid too. Not keeping Reddick, and Chinn were also mistakes.
They’ve had some good players over the past five years, but they’ve just let them go

In my opinion, he saw the way the Panthers were going and he wanted out.  Plain and simple.

We never should have traded him it’s as simple as that. Same with DJ. Same with Burns. You don’t trade young, home grown, proven talent for a lottery ticket. People who bitched about cap and how much they were making need to pay attention to the product on the field since then. CMC alone would win us a coupon extra games that we had no business winning, not even mentioning the leadership and tone setting he brought to the team. He’s a 1k receiver and 1k runner  and opens up everyone else on the field because cmc must be double teamed constantly, and any time he is not, he gets the ball.

Hate when teams, specifically us in recent years, trade away sure things for draft picks and sell it as a rebuild. This notion that the most valuable assets must be auctioned off in order to rebuild a teams is the most overrated strategy In sports

Obviously we didn’t learn from that mistake as we went on to trade burns and DJ Moore

We weren't outbid for Luvu. He left for less money than we offered because he hated Evero's scheme. He wanted out of here.

I thought the shout out to Charlotte and the fans(that's how i took it) was classy though.

fug him. He is a 49er now, a team I despise.

Same thing I said about Cam on the Pats.

I don't look wistfully at him and wish. He wouldn't have mattered a single bit in the susequent years since he left.

Now Baker Mayfield.....that one hurts.

I can at least respect Baker for the way he handled himself here under less than ideal circumstances. I lost a lot of respect for McCaffrey for the way he manipulated his way out.

    • It’ll be extremely hard to bring an elite coach into this dumpster fire, not to mention having to deal with the Teppers.  So yeah, fix the QB problem and then deal with coaching if need be.
    • Somebody get the Jim Mora gif ready in 3….2…1…. For those of you who care, the path to the playoffs is really clear cut and Sundays game against the Rams nor Tampas games against the cupcakes they have remaining factor in really at all.    In all likelihood the only way the Panthers are playing in the second week of January is if they win the division.  The loss to the niners did a lot of damage to any wildcard hopes they may have.   The formula to win the division is pretty simple. After the bye week, if Carolina wins their final four games (at NO, vs Tampa, vs Seattle, and at Tampa) they are NFC South Champs. In that scenario, they finish 10-7 and the Bucs best possible finish would be 10-7 as well. The Panthers would win a tiebreaker with a 5-1 division record.    Ironically, the late season bye comes at a perfect time. Get healthy and try and win four in a row.    With Canales outsmarting himself at every turn and Bryce putting up QB numbers not seen since leather helmets were worn, the thought of winning four in a row seems almost impossible, but, we at least go into December in the hunt.
    • They are definitely out there condemning Canales and absolving Young.  Which, condemn Canales if you want but then leave Young responsibility free? Nah, that is just Bryce fanning.
