Give Legette another season?

I think so.  People are still conflating winning while Bryce Young is playing, and Bryce Young playing well.  Bryce Young still struggles beyond belief to eclipse a lousy 200 yards passing.  There simply aren't opportunities through the air for any of the receivers.  Coker appears to be the clear #2 man right now and he's only getting one or two decent opportunities a game.  If he or a guy like TMac had a real QB they'd have staggering numbers, and I suspect XL would be having a solid season as well.  A receiver getting "cold" is a very real thing.  Legette gets one or two targets a game.  Watch his tape.  The dude is getting open.

XL has had some good and bad moments, but is improving.  Some of the other posters have pointed out the offense, and BY are really making development and success harder.

Coker doesn’t have a problem developing now does he?

He seems to just be a low IQ player on the field.  We obviously keep him but we have to figure a way to use his strengths.  Right now he's probably the worst receiver we have.  I'd like to see Horn on the field more to stretch defenses for one.  There's no way you can convince me XL is helping us more than if we had Renfrow on the field for clutch third downs.  XL is a good blocker though and as others pointed out I wonder if he could be better suited for a TE but I'm not sure there either.

There is a lot of talk about his IQ and his commitment to the game and this and that and no one can firmly say one way or another unless they are with him day to day. Not to mention the standards don't jive with the presented reasoning for defending Bryce Young’s rookie season and subsequent beginning of his sophomore season and third season to where we are now 40+ games as he is finally beginning to string together better QB play.

When I think of Legette present day I think back to Ted Ginn being a pretty significant bust with the Dolphins as a 9th overall pick and then coming to Carolina (twice) and still struggling with the same mental errors on the field and Cam Newton going back to him again and again and again and even going to a Super Bowl with him as the #1 WR.

Deactivating him is weak. Figure something out to his strengths for the rest of the season and reassess in the offseason.

The coaches can't figure out what to do with BY9 much less Leggette
