Dan just said a long term contract for BY this year is still an option.

has he done enough to warrant the 5th year option? yes.

has he done enough to warrant a long-term contract? NOPE. unless it's a team friendly deal where they can easily cut him without huge cap ramifications then sure.

Okay, that sounds a little better than I expected. That was basically a non-answer.

Listen, if you're considering handing out a franchise QB contract that's not something you're casually talking through. That's top of mind, first thing on the docket stuff.

I imagine they will start to explore what his side wants so they can be prepared.

It didn’t sound like something he wanted to do.

Well it depends on the price, if he's willing to get paid like the 20th best QB, I'm fine with a long term contract lol.  But if he wants top 10 or 15 money, nope.

So you're not a fan of winning football games then?

How has he not? you get him for another year for $26MM which is reasonable for his level of performance.  Do you think you can get a better QB on the free agent market for that same amount?

He hasn't but you have to remember that we are talking from the "franchises perspective" when a lot of us are saying "earned."

I don't think many of us actually want this to happen but this coaching staff, FO and owner are way more convinced.

    • I turned to the NFL Network and they are playing the Wildcard Game against the Rams I think we gained a lot of respect around the league we hung in there for a while into the 4th Quarter 🙂
    • Does anyone know for sure if the game tonite will be on HBO max?  That is where I watched the last one and only access I currently have- I am in SE NC and no broadcast stations carry the games.😖
    • take a  look around the league at other young Qb's such as Drake Maye , Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix , CJ Stroud  & Caleb Williams who at the time like Bryce Young they also were drafted by teams with a losing record .the only difference with these Qb's is after joining their teams with a losing record they led those same teams to a winning record in a very short period of time .it's simply what you call a game changer & or elite Qb's & then take a  look at  the other side of the coin you have Qb's such as Trey Lance, Zach Wilson, Mac Jones, Justin Fields  & Anthony Richardson also like Bryce Young all first round picks who instead of winning either did not play or led their teams to a losing record while playing  Bryce Young who has an overall record of 14-30 & wildly inconsistent & never in the history of the NFL has a Qb 5'10" or shorter had a successful carrer as Qb in the NFL  if anything history is telling you exactly what ?..just saying
