I'm reading the post here and for the most part am lmao at ya'll, but after watching Strouds' video, I have to say I agree, he looks like he's about to cry. He may be done.

LOL all the overreaction in this one thread is crazy af.

even the current odds on favorite to win the Most Valuable Player Award this season Qb Matthew Stafford has a bad game.just here recently in a week 17 loss to the Atlanta Falcons Matthew Stafford threw 3 interception & one being a pick 6 .so what does this mean about Matthew Stafford ?

& same thing with CJ Stroud alot of you all are ignoring the evaluation process whic is to gather all the facts pros & cons good & bad & instead irrationality jumping to the conclusion that somehow Bryce Young is better now or almost as good  as CJ Stroud simply  based off pretty much that one bad performance CJ Stroud had in a playoff loss to the New England Patriots

just saying ...pfft whatever

I'm not really in the CJ "camp" per se... the point I was making from the start is just that he's far superior to Bryce.  We'd be better off had we drafted him.  That said, he's not a top tier QB right now and probably wouldn't be had we drafted him either.

I would have normally agreed on the "far superior" but that run in the playoffs made me re-think that view. Bryce looked like he belonged on the field most of our game and CJ never did at almost any point.

Either way, as I have said repeatedly, I no longer view the 2023 QB class with the "what should have been" and I view the 2024 class of which we rightfully earned our spot at #1 overall as the one that got away.

Now those are amazing first round QB's.

I know you are a Bryce homer but the games are even worse. I don't even recall Darnold at the Jets being that shook and uncomfortable. That's the worst composure I have ever seen and that's living through Jeff Lewis and ghost of David Carr.

So funny reading all the clown posts about Stroud blowing BY outta the water after the rookie year not reading into context.

Give me BY. He's ascending. Stroud has been regressing.

No offense but that ascent is pretty minimal. He's ascended to still being a bottom 5-6 QB.

CJ is still a has been a better overall QB than Bryce.

The "overall" part isn't questionable, no one should be arguing overall body of work vs. Bryce. The fact that he fell off a cliff with a cakewalk to a Super Bowl appearance is a big problem. Literally historically bad. That's not nothing.

    • That is a big HELL NO. As bad as XL was this season, at least he adds a dimension that the coaches can use for specific plays. Coleman is just as bad, yet adds zero diversity to our receiving corps. I’ll take the guy that at least cares enough to show up to meetings. Getting traded to a new team won’t change either of their work ethics.
    • I don't think there is any real reason to amend the rule. If you do, the teams will just find a way to abuse it. All the Browns have to do is just interview SOMEONE to "get through" the process. Hell, interview Jim Caldwell if that's what the actual goal is, just to get around it.  Also, they have all of the candidates required for the Rooney Rule in Aden Durde and Nate Scheelhaase. They are in full compliance already. Scheelhaase is already scheduled for a second interview, for that matter.
    • I don't know about the stans but he's at times been like 60 percent of the offense on a playoff calibre team. He put up 1202 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, then had effing 102 receptions for 924 yards and seven receiving touchdowns. He touched the ball 413 times this season (an average of 24 times per game.) Then you have to add in that he's a hell of a blocker when called upon. Without him, the injury depleted 49ers in a hot NFCWest division don't make the playoffs at all.  If that isn't the Most Valuable Player on the team then who should be? The idea that it is an award solely for QBs is just narrow. Edit to add: Will he win it? No.
