Build in the TRENCHES!! LT, DL, and CENTER, first 3 picks and I don't care what order.

They will have their choice between a LT, DT, S and Edge/OLB at 19. They will not take a WR or TE in round 1.

Last year all our picks were around their PFF number or values until Horn. Like it or not,  that worked out.  Looking at their 3/4 board, possible indications at 19:

12 Fano, T, Utah

13 Freeling, T, Georgia

16 Ioane, G, Penn State

18 Banks, DI, Florida

19 Allen, LB, Georgia

21 Mesidor, Edge, Miami

23 Faulk, Edge, Auburn

25 Miller,  T, Clemson

We sign a LB then we ignore it? After we've had a terrible lineback group since Luke left. CJ with Devin Lloyd would be excellent. I prefer to take a LT in the first and an Anthony Hill Jr or Jacob Rodriguez in the second. By no means is LB finished or fixed

I mean, I get what you're saying, and if LB is the BPA, so be it (I won't be mad with one in the first or second). But, it's not like we haven't addressed the position---maybe not the green dot or the mic per se, but the position nonetheless. We have to let some of these guys develop.

    • I tend to think that you're right, but fans can hope.  Metchie hasn't actually translated so far to the NFL for reasons we can point to, and others we probably cannot. This will probably be his best opportunity to stick and raise his value, obviously because of past chemistry with Young, but I don't think that fans can count on it based upon what he's done so far in the league. It would seem that he would've been given that opportunity in Houston, but they not only drafted one, but two receivers. Tells you how they valued him. Philly didn't blink when they traded him to the Jets who refused to tender him, so no one has really valued what he brings--not really. Moreover, Bryce is in the big boy leagues, now. He doesn't have time for sentimentality when it comes to security blankets. T-Mac and Coker are established.  That being said, chemistry can cause explosions under the proper circumstances, but I wouldn't count on Metchie being anything more than a sub-explosion at best.
    • Beyond the locks, that's so gross, there is no reason Tremayne should be our 3rd (as I'm over XL and he shouldn't be higher than #4 on our depth chart this year), just no. It's why I was really hoping we'd just get rid of XL for whatever the best draft pick we can get for him is.  Then sign a true quick twitch guy to be our slot WR, and even then, still hope that Horn Jr might take that spot from them in camp anyways and turn that FA signing into our #4, with Moore as a special teamer who gets a jersey and then Tremayne as that last project.
