my email associated with this account  has been inactive for a very LONG time now & on top of that i do not even remember the password & do not have the same phone # used when or while creating this aforementioned email 

 

with all tbat said i am seriously thinking it's probably best to say goodbye

Just to let everyone know - when I tried to change my email (from an old grad school one getting ready to expire in a month) to a new one, most of the emails I put in didn't work (several different gmail ones + a yahoo one). I checked spam and everything and didn't see the link to confirm the new email. Also sucks because you are unable to access anything on the forum with your username until you confirm it, so I couldn't celebrate with my Canes brothers over the ass kicking we gave Montreal last night.

Funny enough, the email that finally worked was my work email...

 

Edit: I see a few people already mentioned gmail not working.

Just to clarify, is the request to update email address only if we need it to be a different one than what we signed up with, or does everyone need to do the update exercise even if our email isn't changing?  My account is currently tied to my correct Gmail address, so I'm good with it as it is.  I don't know if there is a way to test that my currently linked email will send out a notification.

Gmail will not receive the confirmation email. Neither did my icloud email. It appears you will need a Proton email account to complete the process.

I prefer it anyways, they spy on you less and you don't get those shitty ai rec's that google is putting on every email now which makes my brain want to explode when I'm trying to reply to something with actual human thoughts.
