I would say tarnished slightly, but only because his legacy has been decreasing by the day for me from the time I read in All-Pro about his social media handlers.  Clearly not the same guy that won't even sign autographs for his fans or even give them an interview to read.  Unfortunately, to the less astute panthers masses (aka nonhuddlers) DWill will come off as the victim/winner here.  I've already seen dozens of uninformed, rude tweets to Ron criticizing him, Getts, and Big Cat for their lack of empathy and shaming for the release of a Panthers hero.

Its a shame really.  The common fan watched DWill on TV for years and formed a bias towards him with no foundation.  These people then get their news of his departure and great injustice straight from the source, and feel they know enough about the situation to degrade Panthers leadership.

Sheep.

I believe it did.  During his time here, he had a reputation as the good ole boy (well, in a sense).  He towed the company line, and kept it business.

...and then this odd display.  We get it, break-ups aren't easy but he could have stayed professional.  It's obviously nothing like the Smith scenario but still.  Why not just keep your mouth shut and move on?  Seems bitter.

I still like Deangello, though.  This wont change that.  Had he pulled a Smitty I would feel different.

He was no GOAT, he didn't really bond with the whole city and was never universally accepted as a cornerstone to the team.

He can jump up and down and whip his hair around, but he leaves nothing but an average legacy and dead money(spread over 2 years).

Adios DWill, no hate but no fanfare either.

Being standoffish a bad thing? Some people just may not feel like talking.

From my experience with him, yes, it's a bad thing.  I don't go out of my way to approach those guys, and I don't start hollering, and acting a fool when I see them.  I know they probably get their fair share of people that act that way, when they see them in public.  I don't feel like talking sometimes, but if someone says something to me, I'll at least make eye contact, and acknowledge their existence, even if very briefly.

I don't like how in his interview he said nobody contacted him or came to the funeral, then after his exchange with Igo he says ok well yeah management approached me but ownership did not.

I hate when people make a big public display saying one thing to get people's attention then say the whole story to a select few. It's sensationalism and really takes away from any case he may have had IMO.

The piece kinda took it out of context.. if you watch it in it's entirety, he says he's happy because now they have a system in place for when a player's family member dies (ie. Charles Johnson's grandma) how to handle it correctly. He holds no ill will towards Rivera/Gettleman/Big Cat. He's a little upset with the suits "upstairs" but I wouldn't care if any of them were to interact with the players- that's not their job.

I don't think of D.Will any less. He's in the Top 10 Greatest Panther players to me.
