First off... fug yeah on extending TD!

An extension is coming for Thomas Davis.

Gettleman broke his no-contract-talk policy a bit when he strongly suggested that Davis would be next in line for a contract extension.

“You have to keep your core,” Gettleman said. “Every signing you make sends a message down to that locker room.”

Also, more good tidbits worth discussion.

Obviously the right decision. Now let's get Norman extended then CJ extended to bring his cap number down a sh*tload please. Sign Jennings and Ball, do work in the draft and get ready to be playing in Februrary.

Norman yes, CJ...........no.  We need to let his play out, he is getting up there for a DE and won't be worth an extension after this year.

(AP) — It had been a while since the Carolina Hurricanes had finished practice, with players coming and going from the locker room. Yet Logan Stankoven was still on the ice, leaving a crowd of reporters patiently waiting at his locker. Such is the dynamic for the 23-year-old as the Eastern Conference's top seed heads into Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to face the Philadelphia Flyers. Stankoven has been rolling at nearly a point-per-game pace going back to mid-March, including scoring in every game of Carolina's first-round sweep of Ottawa. Beyond the immediacy of that spotlight, though, is the other piece of Stankoven's story: the Hurricanes are betting he can keep growing into the role as second-line center, coming after spending multiple seasons searching for an answer there.
