Cam Newton Healthy, Confident

Great news! Can't wait for the season!

I firmly believe that Cam and  the Panthers offense will be one of the biggest stories of the year, not only in Carolina but the entire league. A rejuvenated and healthy Newton with new and potent weapons at his disposal,  along side  Stewart and other talent in the backfield behind a road grading o-line. It's going to be a thing of beauty.

We will enjoy the media scrambling to try to explain why nobody saw it coming.

Call me a homer, and overly optimistic if you want to. But im telling you without a trace doubt, the Panthers are poised to shock the world. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.

Another thing--this is probably why Cam has not signed a new deal yet.  If I were his agent, I would not encourage him to enter his biggest contract negotiations after a year where he was hurt most of the time.  If I were Gettlemen, I would not want to pay a man $23m per season until I had seen consistent play.

If Cam has a great season, DG has no problem writing a check for $22-25m--he has been positioning the roster so he can do that.  Both sides want 2015 to show them what the actually have in Cam Newton.

I'll just leave this here.

If a healthy, and happy Cam plays to the level we all truly believe he possesses. This team is set up to take him wherever he can led us.

If that thought don't put a hitch in your giddy-up. You ain't tryin' hard enough.

Would be a nice replacement for Dave Newton

wouldn't want him to be corrupted by bspn.

but as far as a reliable source of info and solid analysis, i think i would say he had replaced david newton, but that would be under the misguided perception that newton had been one at one time.

    • We won't know the answer to this for a long time. Reality is, Caleb has been the consensus #1 in that draft for years. Bryce was a similar situation, but mostly the same. He was not the clear and obvious #1 that Caleb was, but most teams had Bryce at QB1. The Panthers were always going to be terrible Bryce's rookie year.  I don't think DJ Moore's presence would have changed anything about that offense, as our guards, center, and left tackle were getting demolished on nearly every snap. It's clear Caleb's dad was trying to do everything possible to ensure Caleb didn't end up in Chicago with Eberflus. It's hard to imagine that he wouldn't have done the same, but probably more publicly with our situation, considering Carolina is an easier target for the media than Chicago. We can all speculate, but it's impossible to tell who is going to have the better career on May 16, 2025. If either QB doesn't pan out, we have an easy answer. If both flame out, the bears clearly won the trade, but it wouldn't have really mattered anyway. We all know how we win the trade. Candidly, even if one of the other picks we gave up ends up being a hall of fame player, we don't know if the panthers would have taken that player anyway. All you can do is make the best decision you can in the moment with the information you have. I really like Bryce Young, and I'm glad he's a Carolina Panther.  The only way to win in the modern NFL is to have an absolute dude at QB. I personally am happy that our franchise recognizes this, as I remember times when they did not.
    • This year, there's been enough positive talk from core players, free agents, and coaches to where I believe the culture building and momentum is more important than fighting for a worse record.
