For the following players, list whether you believe they're capable of anchoring a starting spot, suited to be a solid backup, or should just be sent packing.

For your consideration:

- Mike Remmers

- Jerricho Cotchery

- Corey Brown

- Kony Ealy

- A J Klein

-Tre Boston

- Roman Harper

- Bene Benwikere

For your consideration:

- Mike Remmers - back up swing man a la Hangartner

- Jerricho Cotchery - 2nd or 3rd WR

- Corey Brown - 3rd or 4th WR

- Kony Ealy - Starter

- A J Klein - back up swing man due to position flexibility

-Tre Boston - starter at SS

- Roman Harper - back up at SS

- Bene Benwikere - starter outside

- Mike Remmers: Could be a starter, at least at first, but I think Williams will take his job.

- Jerricho Cotchery: In our current state? backup.  If we were healthy? sent packing.

- Corey Brown: Backup.

- Kony Ealy: Backup with potential to develop into a solid starter.

- A J Klein: Career backup. Dan Connor 2.0 and no, not just cuz he's white.

-Tre Boston: Same as Ealy.

- Roman Harper: Backup with one foot out the door.

- Bene Benwikere: Starter.

For your consideration:

- Mike Remmers - capable of being a starter, but hoping Williams beat him making him a more than solid backup and swing tackle

- Jerricho Cotchery - quality #4

- Corey Brown - in the ideal situation, #3, but in our situation, starter

- Kony Ealy - in the ideal situation, part of the rotation, but in our situation, starter

- A J Klein - backup/cut

-Tre Boston - solid backup, but could be starter in our situation

- Roman Harper - exact same as Boston

- Bene Benwikere - definitely a capable starter but I think Tillman is better now so he'll be an elite nickel

- Mike Remmers  - has proved a serviceable starter, but Williams is likely to steal his spot.  He'll become a solid backup.

- Jerricho Cotchery - best in the slot.  I'm not sure he "starts".  I think Ginn & Funchess will be our "starters" but Cotch has a pretty key role this year now I think.  Much depends on Funchess.

- Corey Brown - Backup.  Hopefully he'll get over the yips to be solid.  His speed is a bit asset, adds variety to our offense.

- Kony Ealy - Starter.  Ron has just anointed him every down RDE, says he's earned it.  He's brought some great pressure the past 2 games, and I'm excited for the sacks he's had.

- A J Klein - seems to be slipping down the depth chart behind Glanton, Trusnik, et al.  I think there is a 40 % chance he's cut.  We're gonna have to cut SOME LBs, and he's on the bubble now perhaps.  I'm not totally sure,

-Tre Boston - I think Coleman & Harper have the starting jobs for now.  Boston has been playing quite a bit of ST (Harper none...).  If Boston shines he could eventually replace Harper...

- Roman Harper - I think he starts for now, but he could be played out of a starting role before the end of the year if Boston shines, or perhaps Dean Marlowe.  I'm guessing this is his last year with the Panthers, though I don't know his contract status.  I think we'll keep Marlowe on the PS to groom for the future.

- Bene Benwikere - I think Norman & Tillman are the starters, but that Bene will see a lot of playing time to keep Tillman fresh.

On our team,  Benwikere and Ealy are the only players worth starting. In the greater NFL, all are back-ups,  except for Benwikere, possibly Klein and Ealy. Moreover,  in terms of the league,  the rest are take 'em or leave 'em kinda guys due to team's specific needs.

Remmers - Solid starter who is better suited to be a backup swing lineman.

Cotchery - Solid backup now that KB is out...cut if KB was healthy.

Brown - I really just don't know.  I want to say his drops are mental and that he will get it together.  His route running is great.  Possibly a solid backup

Ealy - solid starter...I think he will have a coming out party this season

Klein - solid backup and swingman...can play OLB and MLB

Boston - solid backup at a minimum, possible starter.  Would love to see him and Coleman on the field together.

Harper - Backup only at this point.

Bene - Starter material, without a doubt

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
