Not disputing that we love Fournette, but Gettleman just said he hasn't even started on the defensive players yet.  I hope he didn't decide our pick at 8 without going over half the players.

Sounds like what Jeremy is saying is no one expects guys like Allen, Thomas, or Adams to be there at 8 and Fournette is next up and a real possibility to fall. Which I'd agree with.

I asked @Jeremy Igo that same question yesterday when he said Howard isn't even our third choice.

He never answered.

He knows something though.

The Biggest game of cat and mouse is afoot during draft season. The only team who will openly declare their pick is the team with the first pick. While I don't think Igo is dispensing false information, I also find it highly unlikely that this sort of information would find its way into the media world with more than a month to go before the draft. If it were true.

The fact that this team has valued defense so much over the cam newton Era this makes me happy that defensive players have been put on the back burner finally.

Meh. No real reason to doubt it overall but will believe it when it happens. Not all that enthused about taking a running back at #8; then again, I don't pay attention to college football. Hope the team can find some decent edge blocking, specifically at the FB and TE positions, if they go this route.
