Do You Honestly Believe Byrd and Samuel Can Stay Healthy for An Entire Season?

I've had this thought in the back of my mind pretty much this entire offseason. Theres no questioning that last season, when these dudes were actually on the field they both have rare speed and natural playmaking ability. But the most key factor will be, will they be able to stay healthy?

Because if they do, that would mean we really dont have to spend a high pick or hardly any picks in the draft at WR and we'd have at least 3 dudes on the roster you just KNOW can seperate from defenders on any given play (Smith , Byrd, Samuel). But if they are largely injured again? That makes us rather thin again at WR unless we draft a good one. I think these two players are more meaningful than you might think.

Hell I dont even know if Samuel we be there for any of the pre season camps once again, missing his first two offseasons is critically bad for his development as a WR. I'm hoping hes at least healthy by the pre seasons start in August and he gets alot of reps there. And he really should b/c I imagine Funchess and Torrey Smith will not be wanting to play much in pre season.

All the while, one of the players is a converted college RB.

I'm hopeful for Byrd, but Curtis..idk man should've just kept him as a Reggie Bush type.

Byrd is the one you should be more worried about because he is small and injuries have included at least one concussion.

Samuel had a hammy which the team was obviously being safe with,  but he had apparently  gotten over it (much like OBJ did during his rookie year).  The other injury was just one of those things.  His ankle got rolled up.  That poo happens.

I'm less concerned about Byrd because even if he doesn't work out we didn't have to use a draft pick to acquire him.

Samuel is a different story. He really needs some offseason progression, unfortunately that isn't going to happen this year.

If we want to be in a good spot at WR, the idea should be that Funchess was our only commodity going into this offseason.

We still need at least one more guy in there that's at least a Shepard-Plus.  Which shouldn't be hard to find.

Nope. Byrd still hasn't proven he's a quality starter, either. A faster Bersin. He made the butt catch and can run back kicks. We shouldn't be depending on these two to contribute.

Quality STARTER? LOL! The guy barely has over 100 career receiving yards and has bounced on and off the roster. He hasn't proven much of anything yet.

First, let's talk Samual.

1 season of injuries doesn't tell you anything.

So that's just the OP being a negative Nancy.

Byrd has has some unfortunate injuries.  I don't see why he can't have a healthy season since we don't depend on him in a starting role.

    • Two things: 1. Dr. Eric Eager is central to the draft process 2. I know that it was edited, but we didn't hear "Thieneman" one time, not even before the Vikings pick.
    • Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy
    • Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
