So it's Robinson or Armini....we are screwed

I'm almost to the point of not caring anymore until Rivera is fired.

I want Rivera to succeed for two reasons:

1) Obviously, Rivera success equals Panthers success

2) He's one of the good guys, as nice a person as you'll find

Now, while on the one hand I root for Rivera to succeed, I'm also well aware of his flaws. No denying he has certain issues we all want to see get fixed.

Here's hoping...

The Panthers probably need to think about trading for a tackle. My target would be DJ Humphries, from the Arizona Cardinals, who are going nowhere and need picks to build a future. Make the pick a conditional 2nd or 3rd rounder and stick him at LT, moving Moton over to the right side. Humphries can stick even when Kalil returns and is young enough to stick there for a few years.

The current "window" closes when TD, Greg Olsen and Pep leave the team, which is likely at the end of this year. I don't like trading picks often, but believe we have an opportunity here.

With Amini starting it doesn't matter what good talent we have if he cannot help protect Cam.

Which obviously affects out top 5 defense and makes us unable to compete at all in games.

The Eagles won the SB last season with a below average offensive line and a backup QB.  Come on now

We traded a 4th round pick a couple seasons ago for a punter who played a couple games then got cut. I feel like no one would be upset if we traded one of our two third round picks for a tackle who is anywhere near decent. Our team has so much talent that would be wasted over Amini at right tackle

I agree. We should have a surplus of weapons this year and the next. Could probably make due without a mid round pick.

Any One that's  been a life-long Panther fan has seen the time of struggles!! To you young ones out there it will be okay.. Right now give it to game 4-5 to see where the team is at. Due to the training policy  with players and the NFL injuries happen way sooner in the beginning of the season.. but I am just saying be patient I liked what I saw for the 1st game besides the injury bug crap on the o-line.. but we all know it..so do the coaches!! #KeepPounding

So you would give up a 3rd round pick for a tackle who may only be slightly better than what we have?  Teams don't give up tackles that are anywhere close to decent...especially during the season.   You don't get rid of depth for draft picks in September.

Every blue moon you get one for salary cap concerns, but good tackles and even decent backup tackles aren't sitting on a bench waiting to be traded.  Unfortunately we gonna have to make what we have work and hopefully address it in the offseason.

    • I don't know. CMC is like others and may have lip serviced that line of " I had no plan or wanted to leave Carolina" I think he even said he bought a house too and wanted this to be home.   Here's what I heard- In a way Panthers org gave him a test and he didn't "fight" back. They approached CMC and told him they wanted to put him on IR since the "season" was over or out of playoff reach. CMC didn't fight it one lick and agreed. They secretly wanted him to kept playing or want to, but there was no kickback. I honestly don't know if its real or not, 5th hand information type deal doing on. Yes he had bruises and pains, but was able to play...... but went along with Panthers staff. Odd to be playing games with star players, but whatever....   Plus the staff doctors found out about his tendinitis and there was nothing to fix it. Even with him missing time, it was the best move to trade him before he got inflamed constantly.    Lastly, its mostly time a combo of stuff, Fitterererere did not sign him to be the highest paid RB. That was classic Marty "give me a" herniay doing. GMs have different values on roster spots and rumor was Fitterererer was one that didn't want to pay RBs. For all his faults, he's right about that......
    • I think google is confusing signing bonus with guaranteed money. If you get a guarantee of say $10 million, it doesn’t matter if the signing bonus is $5 or $8 million, it’s the $10 million number that affects the cap, as the signing bonus is always just a portion of the guaranteed money anyways. And again, I’ll admit I’m not 100% sure about it, but I’m pretty sure it is the case.
