Deion Sanders says Turner’s offense not a good fit for Cam

Caught the last 5 min of “21st and Prime” and Deion was talking about how Cam will struggle in Turner’s new offense, said it will cost the team wins.

It's the same offensive scheme he's played in for the last several years, just coordinated by a different guy (who's better at it).

Is it possible that Cam Newton struggles this year? Sure it is. I've seen some folks question if his deep ball is still the same since his shoulder surgery. And of course you've got the offensive line issues...

But if he does struggle, I seriously doubt it's going to be related to the system or to Norv.

Cam is going to have a big game against Atlanta this week. He hasn't had one since they drafted Neal and Jones, them being out will be the under the radar story that everyone will be talking about Monday morning after Cam goes off. He's gonna let it go, baby.

Well 1 game in and his CMP was 65%, which IMO is Turner’s main goal. So it’s too early to judge.

Did he give a reason? Any evidence he used to draw that conclusion? Or just typical “I played the game I know what I’m talking about”

Since OP doesn’t like to summarize anything or give context Deion had mention how Turner’s system is based all off of timing. 

3 step drop and release, I could see how one could assume looking from the outside in how Cam may struggle with it. 

But so far Cam’s had no issues getting the ball out quick and on time

At heart it's still a Coryell though, i.e. establish the run and chuck it downfield.

Of the major offensive systems run in the pros, the Coryell is the one that best suits Cam Newton's skill set.
