He and KK both have been average at best.  Out of what should be a Top 3 DT rotation, we're not looking too good.

Star use to take the majority of the double teams, now KK is taking them and Poe isn’t taking advantage

The problem isn’t Poe...it’s the fact that the ends get zero pressure from the perimeter. Peppers is our most consistent pass rusher and he’s approaching 40....and has lost more than a step.

Addison is serviceable (which is what his contract reflects)....but we need some serious help off the edge next year.

Fortunately, this coming draft looks to be one of the stronger DL drafts in recent memory. We gotta draft some and we gotta nail those picks. Butler and Early being busts really hurt. Unlike our OL for the longest time, it wasn't that we didn't invest in the DL, it was just that we tried and we whiffed.

I think he would have for the right price. KK and him were DG’s unstoppable team. They were our line. We didn’t have to worry about the line. Obviously hardy fuged that up. But they each had their own line and they could trade off quickly. That’s what made our DL unstoppable.

edit: we had the price. Till DG got shitcanned.

And the moral was we had 2 DL leaders that could manage their squad. We don’t have that right now. We also don’t have our DL coach where he should be.

Star was massively underrated here at what he was good at. He never became a pass rusher but goddamn he kept the linebackers clean. Poe has played ok, not great.

**Raises Hand**  I am one of the people who thought it would be okay to let Starr walk but never thought he wasn't a great player for us.  Did way more for us than I gave him credit for though and I think its no obvious.

I was having the discussion with my fiend yesterday. I would love to see side by side footage of Poe and Star with KK.  Just to compare what they do differently. To see if it is 100% Poe, or if KK is underperforming and creating less opportunity.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
