CMC the best threat the Panthers have ever had?

I agree with you about Smith. It’s wild to think though that as dominate as Smith was, CMC can have more yards this season than Smith ever had.

CMC reminds me a little bit of Warrick Dunn. They both have that inhumanly fast muscle twitch so their legs just explode with quickness, and they're both tough as nails and absorb a ton of punishment somehow. Smith had the disadvantage of being taken out of games with triple coverage, or Jake pooping the bed. If Smith had Brees throwing to him over his career he'd be considered one the best WRs to ever play the game.

Warrrick Dunn is a good comparison.

Regarding the comparison to Smith, no he's not there yet but there is something to think about on that front.

Steve Smith wasn't "Steve Smith" during the first two years of his career.  He didn't really hit his stride till year three.  McCaffrey's already doing amazing things and his second season isn't even done yet.

If you look at it in terms of career progression, McCaffrey is well ahead of where Smith was at the same point in his career.

Dunn was so underrated.
