Agree with the idea that the 3-4 does a better disguising where the blitz is coming from. But it tends to be harder to stop the run unless you put extra backers on the line. You also need outside linebackers who can rush the passer, hold the edge and still be good defending the pass in space. The question is how often we use that scheme and exactly what will our hybrid look like most of the time.

Yeah this is what I expect. He’ll mix some 3-4 concepts in but it’ll still be based in 4-3 and we won’t have to make drastic changes.

All the more reason why we should draft Sweat at 16 if he is there. He can play in a 3-4 pass rusher/open space OLB and a 4-3 edge setting DE

We all seem to be caught up in whether a 3-4 or 4-3 is better but maybe its just the fact it is different.  I think it is fair to think that our division rivals have a pretty good idea of what we do at this point.
