Hurney tried to trade up into the 20s for Greg Little

It’s possible teams got it wrong about Little and it that’s the case, we just dominated the draft with two studs in the trenches.

Precisely what the doctor ordered.  Let Burns come to us and went up to grab our coveted offensive lineman outside of Jonah Williams.  Excited to see what happens 3-37.  Hell, I'm not opposed to another trade up (but maybe tomorrow in the 4th)

Really want this pick to work out. If it does, it makes sense trying to move up into the 1st to get the bonus option year. Would allow us to pay Moton, move on from DWill (who I'm still high on), and have a franchise LT on a rookie deal.

If it doesnt, gonna be another notch on the long, long list of Hurney 2nd rd failures

Matsko clearly liked him and matsko made Chris Clark into a serviceable left tackle.  He also turned daryl William's, trai Turner, and Andrew norwell into pro bowlers.  I'm willing to give the benefit if the doubt for a guy they clearly loved and wanted as a part of our team

I'm skeptical of him. But he's a Panther now, and he has my full support. I think the best thing for him though is not to start too early in the LT position. Even our best LT Gross played RT his first year. This is where Rivera's conservatism may actually work in favor of a player's long term development. Give him a chance to play at LG or even RT. If he excels and if either Moton or Williams underperform or with William's case leaves for big money, we can move him next year to a Tacke spot.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
