The Saints turned off cap mode so they'll be able to sign him for whatever they want, as long as they want.

Saints have wooped our ass past two seasons and have to pay their superstar player, which is a universal league wide tug of war..

 

but.. but..  cap hell! hehe saints take that!!

Well, whenever Brees retires, they have little to no hope of being able to afford a reasonable NFL QB. Should be fun to see them try and draft a new franchise QB for the next several years.

got to wonder how good he'll be without Brees, and that could be next year.  I know he's good, very good, but Brees makes all his receivers look good.

This is very true. We do assume it will come back to bite them because it happened to us. In all likelihood, they just have had a much better front office than we have.

We obviously don't have an answer for Michael Thomas, so I'd rather he not be locked up for the future. I've been thinking Brees would get noodle arm for the past two seasons, and while he doesn't have as much arm strength it hasn't stopped him from carving us up.

I don't blame the Saints for being in win now mode. I actually wish we were in win now mode, but with Cam's shoulder it may be a moot point.

 We've  been getting out coached and out GMed by them for awhile now. I don't think they will be as bad as people think when Brees retires either.
