If it was up to you, would you play Cam on Thursday night?

If the Bears are planning on playing starters including Kalil Mack? I'd say fug no!

Let him play for a couple drives vs the Bills and for the first half at the Pats and he should be good IMO. No need for him to play in the 1st or 4th pre season contests.

Depends on Kalil Mack is playing,

If he isnt, yes for 1 series

To

1. Get reps with the new Center (who hasnt had that many live contact reps in camp thus far)

2. Keep working on rhythm with these young starting WRs.

If Mack plays, he11 no, that dude is probably the best pass rusher in the game right now who wrecks shop.  And dont trust Williams or Little vs him here

Honestly, probably not. Just not worth it. Plus, we have a backup QB situation to figure out. We know who our starter is. We also know our starter is still bouncing back from a throwing shoulder surgery. Why unnecessarily risk Cam when we can give the current front runner in the backup QB race a series with the starters to see how he does?

yes.... let's not play him....  at all..... ever...... don't want him to get hurt

Not what I'm saying at all.  At this point in Cams career, what's even the point of preseason.  He gets plenty if reps in practice and joint practices to gel with his team mates.  Preseason should be for evaluating young talent

    • One thing I didn’t consider is how thin this draft is at quarterback. That’s going to drive up the market for backups and borderline starters like Willis, Jones, and Jameis Winston. Because of that, we’ll most likely be priced out of the market for this tier of backup.
    • We've already beat the #1 seed twice, why not one more? (Packers and Rams were both #1 seed at the time we played)
    • My determination has come down to this. Based on recent QB history, has Bryce's improvement warranted 50m per season? Lamar is the only original team QB to play on his 5th year. The others took major deals at the end of the 3rd, before or just after the option was signed. Chances are, we're getting asked for the same.  I haven't rooted for Bryce to fail. I've rooted for him to succeed so big that them signing that extension would give me no worries about our future at QB at all. We haven't seen that level of play consistently that this year. We haven't seen it in the past 6 games.  We're about to be at a threshold with Bryce and I worry about what this front office will do. We have a history of bad decision making and Morgan has been part of that group making those decisions. I don't want Carolina in the same boat Arizona and Miami are right now. It has nothing to with being right. It has to do with wanting to win for more than a single season. We've never had back to back winning seasons. Faith in their abilities is not warranted at this point.
