Nah. We’ve got Addison, Miller and Haynes.

What we honest to goodness need is a Fletcher Cox type DT. McCoy hasn’t been special and aside from the idiocy of messing with Kawann’s deal we don’t have that interior pass rush. Poe has played better this year but McCoy and Short aren’t the answer next year.

We could have taken Omenihu instead of Scarlett and had an upside young inside guy. Instead we converted Short’s salary to bonus to free up $10M in cap space that, while it can be rolled over, committed us to spending $14M more on him next year. So over this year and next we actually lost out on more cap space.

Anyway, we ignored interior DL this year and we are going to have to address it next year. DT/3-4 DE, S and LG are likely the 3 spots we can improve the most in the draft. I’d rather go Interior DL in the 1st.

Didn’t really ignore interior DL, they signed GMC thinking he would wreak havoc, brought back Love. I agree that the next draft should include a stud interior guy

Hurneymagic in the 1st round continues.

The big question for this draft will be Greg Little... if he can become a legitimate starting left tackle then this will go down as an all-time great draft in franchise history.

Drafting a starting pass rusher and LT gets an A+ in my book without even considering anything else.

That being said, looks like Miller could be a good depth piece too.

So far this draft is looking killer. Add on Joey Slye and it's even better.

Unfortunately this is a pretty weak front 7 draft. Still early, obviously, but the WRs are both deep and amazing, the CBs are deep and the QBs are very deep but probably lack the top end guy.

There are a few good IDL guys but with how shallow the class is, they might all be gone by the time we pick. There are some solid 2nd round IDL but I fear that those guys will end up going late first.

My dream 1st would be Grant Delpit but (1) I doubt he gets to us and (2) I can’t see Hurney and Ron pick a safety in the 1st.

Short has played pretty darn good the first 2 games he was in.....

That sucks because it’s such a huge need and was so deep last year. Losing 77, 100 and picking Scarlett over Omenihu could be really big decisions in terms of the interior DL.

We just need one to slide to us like Burns, just one and let’s be honest if Allen falls back to earth, we’ll be picking very early.

It’s definitely hard to project where in the hell we are going to actually pick just because of the QB situation. If Allen keeps it up or Cam actually comes back at 100% then we could be picking mid to late 20s, if Allen regresses and Cam doesn’t get healthy then we might very well be picking top 5. Or some combination of factors and we are in the mid teens again.

    • It shows how short the actual span of a NFL career actually is.  We get caught up with the few guys that play until 40-years old, but that's an extraordinary tiny fraction of the League.  What you may or may not have intentionally done there is show how we quickly move off guys like that but are stubbornly hanging onto Bryce.  His new running mate, Kenny Pickett, drafted just one year earlier is already on his 4th or 5th team.  Kenny isn't horrible, but he's not good enough to be a franchise QB.  Some franchises get it, chalk it up as a miss and move on.  Others double down on trying to make things work until the relationship completely deteriorates. *cough* Dolphins and Cardinals *cough*
    • Winner of 7 vs 8 seed game gets 7th seed. Loser of that game plays against winner of 9 vs 10 seed game. Winner of that game (loser of 7 vs 8 against winner of 9 vs 10) gets 8th seed. So in reality if you make it to the 7 vs 8 game, it’s win and in for your team. Lose that game and you get another shot at getting in. If you have to play the 9 vs 10 game, lose once you are gone. Win the first game as a 9 vs 10 competitor and you still have to win again to get in.
    • DJ Chark, Hayden Hurst, and Bradley Bozeman all started for the Carolina Panthers during Bryce Young’s rookie season. All 3 have announced retirement after two years.  Scott Fitterer was that bad.   And his #1 receiver Thielen also just retired
