Maybe Tepper is high on Tomlin?

It’s been publicized Tepper wanted to fire Tomlin a few years back in Pittsburgh. Why would he now want to hire him here?

I would rather go in a different direction. The thing that worries me most about entrenched coaches is that they dont deal with change as well as a new guy. I would feel a lot more confident in a past HC that spent a couple of years coordinating before jumping back to HC.

Could have seen this happening if we still had our old owner, who basically wanted to own the Carolina Steelers. Even if Rivera and Tomlin both get fired, I don't see this. I see Tepper wanting an offense-first coach.

It's also gonna depend on how much of the "Steeler Way" Tepper believes in.

Part of the Steeler Way is that they don't hire retreads.

I don’t see Tomlin being replaced. And if the Panthers can salvage a respectable season this year I bet Ron would be extended as well.

Didn't think Cowher was a great coach, and don't think Tomlin is either.  This is close to being a Patriots/BB assistant hire in my opinion.

You have no clue if they are going to be good or not, as they have the best org. (Tomlin) behind them, or the best coach in the history of football (BB) beside them.

I've seen some speculation (I forget where) that Colbert might want to move on from Tomlin but ownership may not.

If this season keep going in the tank, it could set up an interesting dynamic (and possible showdown) at the end of the year.

I have no desire to see Tomlin brought in.  I have no clue what he would bring to the table that we are missing.

His biggest strength is what?  Dealing with clowns like AB?  Do we have that situation here?

If Tepper can bring in the Steeler FO then it won't matter much who the coach is but they haven't done poo since Big Ben has been injured and on his downhill slide. That speaks for itself.
