Two really quick questions that you need to be honest about.

1. Fire Ron& Hurney.

2. Let someone else make those decisions.

It wouldn't be perfect or painless, but at least this fanbase would have hope again, something those two asshats have ruined. I don't know what Cam wants/would do and I could care less what those two want.

Lol Igo at it again I Love It!

1.) Of course you don’t extend yet

2.) In a perfect world for him it would be no but he has to to prove not only to the team but other teams he can still play well. That’s the thing about being under contract.

I’ve got two questions

1.) Why are we acting like all this is guaranteed? When no one actually knows

2.) Why are people acting like things can’t change for better or worse between now and the off-season?

Something to ponder....

1. If you are the Carolina Panthers do you give Cam Newton an extension?

2. If you are Cam Newton, do you step foot on a field under a 1 year contract?

1.  Maybe, albeit a heavily incentive laden one.

2.  Maybe, depends on how much I still want to play, how much I like the people I play with, and what my future plans are.

Said it on Twitter...

1. IF Cam is healthy, give him a 5-year, incentive laden deal, voidable after three years. It protects the Panthers long-term, but gives Cam upfront money if he produces quickly.

2. As Cam, if the Panthers don't extend, he should ask for a trade.

Ponder this..

1.Carolina doesn't extend.

2. Imagine how Cam plays when the entire world is doubting 'super man'?! Might be 2015 on roids!!

But... might also just see Cam retire after this as well. Image is a big deal to him and coming back and playing poorly might damage his brand. It might be best for both Cam and the Panthers to part ways. The plus to Carolina is that we get cap space and potentially a good and very cheap QB. This would 'restart' the Superbowl window

I don't think there's realistically any chance of number one happening.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
