At least Obada gives it his all....much rather sign him to a one year non-guaranteed contract than shell out a multiyear deal with guaranteed money for some of the guys who regressed last year.

And the same thing will happen with Kyle Allen. As it should. League minimum deal for a decent player.
 

Please do some research on bottom of the roster contracts (like exclusive rights free agents) before complaining about signings like this. 
 

An ERFA is essentially three, one-year deals that would have been someone’s rookie deal but they didn’t get a rookie deal because they were undrafted. So a team that picks up an undrafted player with <3 years experience has exclusive rights to re-sign that player to an unguaranteed minimum salary contact. And after 3 years they become a restricted free agent (right to match if another team offers).
 

Why wouldn’t a team do that? They can cut the player with no recourse.

He didn't have the year most of us hoped for, but he now has a full years worth of experience under his belt. I'm sure he'll spend the offseason focusing on improving weaknesses and getting better.

He's a growth player and smart teams keep grooming those guys. Most won't end up working out, but when they do it's a great find.

I think Efe's far from his ceiling and a quick learner. He just didn't have the advantage of growing up playing Pop Warner and high school football, much less even watching it regularly.

He really showed flashes early in the season as a pass rusher at 3-4 DE.  Was good to see, especially considering he just learned the position for the 1st time in camp.

I would bet that the amount of dead money if he doesn’t make the final roster is negligible. Doubt they obligated Rhule to much of anything by signing him.
