I have no idea what their ultimate plan was, and neither does anybody else around here.  Seems to me they got the guy they wanted.

They clearly got the guy they wanted. That’s not really the point, though, is it. Unless you think it’s all a ploy, which is dumb, then they clearly saw value in the original plans they made for interviewing the candidates who they will now not be interviewing. That is called a change of plans. I believe in interviewing many candidates because it can help protect against becoming infatuated with just one and making a poor decision.

The amount of salt and self-righteousness over my post is kind of weird. Just not a fan of abandoning the process. That’s all. Nothing to get all worked up over. I really hope he is everything that Tepper and Marty thinks he is, and more. I hope he’s the best coach of all time. Doesn’t mean I have to agree with how they handle their hiring process, from what we know of it.

Damn.

You call that salt?  I have not even begun to become salty yet.

Rhule needs to send a Christmas card to Kliff Kingsbury. The Cardinals still had their issues this year, and played in a stacked division, but they looked much improved over 2018. It showed Tepper a college guy could have some success in the NFL.

One thing that I've been thinking about with the statements that college coaches don't work in the NFL.  I'm wondering if we are seeing a new era, sure they didn't work in the past but todays NFL is completely different.   Notice QB's and their play, pocket passers aren't the golden rule anymore, spread offenses that give a mobile QB room to roam are becoming more the norm and mobile QB's as well.  I think we will see more college coaches coming into the league and the old guard slowly start moving out.  Panthers are ahead of the curve, we are going to start setting examples for everyone else to follow instead of trying to follow what is already there; i.e. Patriots and Steelers

    • The league would protect him.  The amount of poo Jerry Jones has had exposed and got away with?  The amount of poo Stephen Ross has got away with?  How long Dan Snyder got away with essentially fuging sex trafficking employees and poo???????  Taking down JR was a hit job.  You think the other 31 owners, especially the older ones aren’t blathering, blatant, ignorant ass, bigoted rich racists who have committed far worse things than Blue Jean Fridays?  The ones I named above have DEFINITELY did worse than what JR was accused of.  And do you think guys like Steve Smith would’ve been viewing him as a father figure if they felt that’s who he was?  JR pissed the league off with that last lockout situation and they made him pay.  They lined a new guy up to join their billionaire boys club in Tepper, and they prolly slid a pretty penny to Jonathan Jones to write the “expose,” to get JR out of here.  Again, all the owners I’ve listed above have been verified on record for doing worse poo, yet they’re still running their organizations, unquestioned.  They hand-picked Tepper long before JR was forced out, so he isn’t going anywhere.  Sadly.  fug the NFL.  (Also, to be clear, it’s always fug racism, bigotry, and sexual exploitation - not ever excusing it.  Just making the point that the NFL isn’t operating under this clear standard of justice applied to each and every case)
    • I was still in the throes of a contentious divorce and my job at the time had me work on Sundays.  At the beginning of the season I tried to still work around Sundays so I could see our games.  I think after Bryce came back from the benching, I said fug it.  First time in my life I intentionally didn’t watch our games, even through the Atlanta finale.  In the past, even if we didn’t live up to expectations, I would watch to still support and at least analyze player development, strengths and weaknesses, coaching, etc., but Bryce makes all of that a moot point, so I stopped watching. Again, this is asinine,  it if he is retained (still can’t believe this is even a possibility of a conversation due to how shitty our organization has become under Tepper), I will NOT watch next season until he is gone.
    • Live look at Bryce playing ping pong.
