String of hard Sundays coming in 2020

The fact that the Panthers team we have known is no more, has sunk in. Time to prepare for that reality. How will you deal with the inevitable 2020 season that may be the toughest since 2010. In fact, 2021 and 2022 may very well be a bunch of tough Sundays.

Do you follow another team in another division while our team gets back on it's feet (while still being faithful to the Panthers and what team will you root for while the rebuilt is on?) Are you all ready to stand by the Panthers while they get it together?

Empty stadium and low expectations on the arisen for the near future...we will need to keep this forum as positive as possible, while this transition plays out .For all our stress levels, drinking to excess, and sanity.

I'm an eternal optimist, but Rhule is going to earn his money if he can turn this around

Removing Kuechly (and probably Cam unfortunately) leaves us going into 2020 with objectively the worst roster on paper in the NFL.

We have only one true "blue-chip stock" player going into 2020 in CMC.  I take this to be a player who is arguably one of the 5 best at his position in the NFL.

For reference, you could argue in 2015 we had 10 (Newton, Olsen, Stewart, Kalil, Norwell, Turner, Short, Kuechly, Davis, and Norman).

All the good coaching in the world can't change that fact.  It's going to take several great drafts to replenish that level of talent b/c teams very rarely let a "blue-chip stock" player go.

Maybe guys like Burns, Shaq, DJ, and Bradberry can make a leap.  Maybe Turner can return to form, and Little and Moton can be decent tackles.

It's just depressing right now to think about how much needs to change for the Panthers to once again have a SB caliber roster.

We already had the 2nd worst defense in the NFL (and one of the worst run defenses in NFL history) WITH a healthy Luke

I think you are being overly dramatic. We play Cam or sign Dalton and just make marginal defensive upgrades with the coaching upgrades we have = already an 8-8 team at the least

Guess I’ll start back going to church. That, and do more fishing. My elder next door neighbor and I can stand outside and talk more on weather proofing our fences, and whether or not we’ve seen any snakes in our yards. There will be no need for me to rush in the house

    • Through 2 games cltfc has 12 shot attempts. Opponents 23 shots on target. Attack sucks, Defense definitely sucks. Kahlina is the only reason they haven't given up 14 goals in two games.
    • I met a few times--never liked him. I figured he might have had a bad day--but then realized that he must have a lot of bad days. Once he raised his voice at my son because my son did not understand a question when SS was signing his jersey.  I wanted the jersey to represent his encounter with a Panther great, not some small man with a bad attitude.  I told me son, "Forget it.  He was asking you what your name is (My son was about 7 and told me that he thought Smitty was going to write (my son's) name on the jersey.  He said "Dad, I thought he was supposed to write HIS name on the jersey, not mine."  I said, "He was personalizing it, writing it to you--like a birthday card."  He is now grown, and he has a steve smith Jersey that is framed and matted.  He keeps it is his closet.  I asked him, "Why not have that out on your wall?"  He said, "All I remember is an A-hole scribbled on my shirt.  I don't remember a legend or hero.  But he had a Jake Delhomme Jersey on his wall.  "Jake was great.  I will always remember that."  (Jake stayed and talked to us for about 5 minutes or more--GREAT guy.)
    • Is it possible for someone to regress in maturity as they age or has Steve really just been a jerk his entire life?
