what will you do when Hurney trades our first rounder for 2021?

It's a lot smarter to keep our pick or trade down and gradually rebuild the defense over time .

I think the offensive skill pieces look pretty good but the oline is still a huge question mark.

The defense will stop us from being anything higher than .500 imo . There's just way too many missing pieces and you can't fix it in one year .

Reports are saying that Hurney believes this team can compete (lmao). What will your reaction be when he trades next years first to fulfill that dream of his?

Drive to BOA and kick him in the balls. He’s probably a Eunuch though so I’ll have to think up something more devious.

Exactly, that would be smarter. That's exactly why the thread is about Hurney doing the opposite.

If it happens, it better be part of the package to jump up for Burrow or Tua. That would be the only thing that makes sense and even that's a stretch given the Teddy bandaid.,

Not for Tua. 7th overall AND next years first is wayyyy too much for a guy like Tua with those injury concerns, no matter how talented he is

The more I think about it the more I wonder if it’s Hurney going balls in for this year. With rookies... right.

The only way this makes logical sense is if there won’t be a draft next year because no college season this year.

I don't necessarily disagree. I'm basically just saying that addressing the QB situation is really the only way it makes sense to part with next year's 1st because parting with next year's 1st essentially takes a franchise QB prospect off the table in next year's draft.

Blame Tepper, laugh and then make fun of anyone that is taking this team seriously at that point. No player in this draft makes that a good thing, not 2 top 10 picks. If it was for a trade back into the first then it's Marty Ball and we haven't won any of those yet.

Hopefully we take quality guys that can come in and contribute in the first 3 rounds and guys that can play special teams and backup & develop in the 4th and later. That would be a huge win and something different in a very good way for the Panthers.

Edit: Trade back and not up would be a good sign.

    • This is one of my key concerns lost in the sauce that is the neverending conversation about him evading pressure and the OL. Eventually any QB is going to have to step up into the pocket and show the defense they can still beat them even if they get through. We have a limited QB who cannot consistently do this and as such we are relegated to going back and forth about how successful he was at evading pressure but we have little else to write home about. Tyler Shough stepped up into the pocket and made plays despite being pressured and sacked. He's played in about 35 less games than Bryce Young. That is a problem. And isn't just going to go away. The Bucs are going to do the same thing after watching the film.
    • Oh, absolutely! That doesn't absolve the absolute dogshit hockey that the team played in front of him, though. Only Cane that played well tonight was Bradly Nadeau.
    • Thanks for illustrating my point.  No one in the last several pages of this discussion is suggesting we should hang on to him, but anytime someone says anything less than "take him out back and shoot him" you act like they are. That's either you not understanding what you're reading or just being a nimrod because you can't keep up. (I would have said 'or just sh-tposting' but you're way too emotional on this topic for that) Either way, the result is the same 😆
