Not to be a homer, but I'm okay with our moves and excited at our future. A lot of these moves by the other 3 teams are for veteran players, and the Saints and Bucs have 40+ year old QBs, so they are win now for sure. Let them enjoy the next year or two, but we will be the stronger team long-term.

We added the top QB in free agency not named Tom Brady and is only 27 years old. Top WR not named Amari Cooper and is also 27. We also improved our LT position and may have a lateral move at RG depending on who goes there.... Miller is a very capable starting RG (26 years old).

Our defense is shiite.... but we have the highest draft picks of the others in the NFCS, so if we bring in someone like Brown/Simmons in R1, they will wreak havoc.

I'm okay with our moves in that we're dumping a lot of dead cap and I was already expecting this season to look like refried horse sh-t anyway.

Next year is when I'll start looking for better.

You if one of those three teams (Tampa, New Orleans or Atlanta) may get in at 8-8 which NFCS looking like poo, that means we’ll be 4-12?

Maybe.  I am begining to think Atlanta gets in at 8-8 or 9-7.  Brees and Brady will show their age again this year, and there is no Bridgewater to help the Saints when Brees misses several games this year. Brady will get killed behind that line

Doesn't matter. We are being rebuilt and it's going to take some time. The only question I have is do we really know it yet or is this a longer road than it should be?

We are now the team that the opponent's fans will be embarrassed if we beat their team and yet still feel they can easily beat us next time. It sucks but that's where we have found ourselves.

Cannt believe Ive seen the day that carolina had the worst offense AND defensive in the south, especially the defensive.

I know its reminds to be seen, odds are not in the panthers favor.

Both Brees and Brady FINALLLY showed their age this past year, I hope during the 19 craziness they each ran out out of vampire blood.

Jeff Ireland has done wonders for your last few drafts. I'm still trying to engineer a way we can steal him.

He and Matt Rhule are friends, you know.

Ireland has been a bonafide stud for us, hilarious looking back at the people that laughed at that hire. Between that and letting Ryan Pace walk to Chicago, it was back-to-back homeruns.

Every offseason, it’s the move I watch the closest. And I bet y’all do want him! However if a team comes calling, I think we’d re-shuffle some titles by promoting Loomis and then promoting Ireland to the general manager title to prevent him from being poached.

So hands off!

You guys do realize Brees and Brady will be playing another 10+ years right?

We’re getting really close with our clone trials.

You don’t have a HoF QB past this year or maybe 1 more.

And? We didn’t have a HoF QB for 5 games last year and how’d that work out? 1 of which we also didn’t have Kamara and we still trashed a top-5 defense on their home field.

Brady wants to play until his own grandkids are old enough to be his teammates, but I don't think Brees has any such aspirations.

And yeah, it's possible. Though you'd have to build the best offensive line you possibly could to make it work.

The Saints have already done that. The Bucs? Not so much

And that’s exactly where I’m at with this, that offensive line will get Brady killed. So unless the Buccaneers’ entire offensive gameplan is to drive down the field 15 yards at a time through roughing the passer penalties, I don’t see how they win more than 10 games.

If last year was Brees showing his age, we could easily get another 2-3 years out of him.

1st in completion %, t-5th in TD’s (even while missing 5 games), 1st in TD-INT ratio, t-1st in INT’s, 2nd in QB rating, t-9th in YPA.

I’ll take that with our weapons, OL, and defense.

There's rumors that we might have an opening for a GM after this draft, so maybe we'll offer him a promotion.

Hands off? Forget that. If it takes me breaking into your facilities like Catherine Zeta-Jones did in Entrapment to make it happen, I'll do it.

(I just won't look anywhere near as good in spandex) :Eyes_Emoji_42x42:

For the record, I'd also be happy to steal Terry Fontenot while I'm at it.

Nawww, y’all got to ride the Hurney Train! It’s already full steam ahead! Hahah.

And damn, trying for Ireland and Fontenot too? Alright, Carolina Saints, I see you.

Every team in the division besides us are in 'win now' mode.  So yeah, they are buying the essential pieces they feel will get them over the hump.  Us?  We added just enough players so we can actually field a team this year and not have to forfeit each game.

We'll field a team only if we have WR's and lineman willing to play both sides and special teams.

We have 63 currently, after the draft we will have 71.  Still a very long way from 90

What dead cap are we dumping? I’m not talking about cap space that we had to account for no matter what. With all the FA deals and trade, I don’t see much savings. The Cam money went right to Teddy and we actually owe more since he’ll be here 2 years at a minimum. Anderson negates Poe and again adds more in year 2. Okung saves us a little in year 2, but Teddy and Anderson way over compensate for the savings there. We haven’t dumped Short yet so that’s a net new $13M lost this year. If we truly wanted to save cap to roll over for a SB run with a rookie QB, we’ve done a poo ass job of it. Pretty sure we are spending a lot more than what we could have to get some real impact FAs in 2022 when we’ll actually be competitive and the door to own the division wide open. Spending $75-89M on Teddy, Anderson and Short over the next two years seems incredibly wasteful. That’s as much as Jack Conklin and Donte Fowler’s full contracts they just signed. That’s more than CMC will make over the next 6 years all to try and get to 8-8 the next two years.
