Game balls! Who gets em?

Game Balls

Offense:

Teddy Bridgewater - I think he's played better overall in other games, but this week he was able to find the end zone 3 times through the air and on the ground.

Mike Davis - Can't say enough about how he played today. It wasn't just the big plays that impressed me, but how he refuses to LOSE yardage. So many other backs would be stopped behind the line, and Mike Davis always has that extra wiggle, that extra effort, that extra step to get back to the line, and gain an extra yard or two. Those are the inches that win football games.

Defense:

Brian Burns - Had a really solid outing. He was constantly putting pressure on Murray, and made some key stops.

Jeremy Chinn - Another solid outing for Chinn. He hasn't been perfect, but for a rookie he's been better than advertised for his draft position by a mile. He's made 31 other NFL teams kick themselves.

The whole team and coaching staff pretty much deserve gameballs so I'm going to instead highlight who stepped up and impressed today:

1. Gross-Matos: Before this week, mainly heard his name called for a bonehead penalty. Came up huge with some tough tackles and that one brilliant sack/fumble.

2. Curtis Samuel: Made some critical catches with his hands, keeping drives alive. We don't need him to get 100 yards per game. Just do what he did today.

3. Derrick Brown: All over the backfield. Demonstrated that interior presence we hoped for as a top 10 pick.

Credit due to all the other players mentioned from others but these 3 showed more today than they had all year and deserve a little extra kudos I'd say.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
