Y’all gonna have a fit when they succeed. Say what you want about Hurney but the guy NEVER missed in the first round....can’t say that about our current GM. Not hitting with our high draft pick can set us back years. Only time will tell what our future looks like.

Our current GM has never made a bad draft pick for the Panthers.

Hurney getting a job is simultaneously mind blowing and yet entirely expected that WFT hired him. It’s hilarious how we have two Carolina North’s now, far north of us the Bills poached our good coach and GM candidate and close north of us Washington took our castoffs.

We were always a Jekyll and Hyde organization. Capable of brief glimpses of greatness but also capable of atrociousness spurred on by idiotic decisions. The Bills and WFT are going to let us see both side of that bipolar former organization play itself out.

Never felt that Marty was as bad in 2.0 as many here thought. I think he made some terrible decisions in 1.0 mainly over paying contracts.but I’ve understood most of his moves since he started as 2.0 and thought he’s done a decent job.

I know letting Bradberry walk and over paying Shaq looks terrible but honestly I didn’t want and still don’t want us paying too money for a luxury position CB’s are Luxuries. I think Shaq was just in the right place at the right time. If we didn’t resign him we were screwed more than we already were at LBer.

I put the blame of bridgewater on Rhule, him collecting all his old college players and buddy coaches is a huge mistake and red flag to me. If anything I think it illustrated the fact that Rhule is in over his head.

Rhule is our coach now so I will wish him the best and success, and just hope I’m proven wrong later.

Missing on literally everything else other than 1st round picks clearly sets us back for years too.

We always sucked on FA because Jerry Richardson was cheap as hell, not saying Hurney was great after first rd but might see him do ok in Washington. I’m hoping Fitterer will do great here, but don’t have high hopes with Tepper being involved so much. Hurney wasn’t the answer either, what I’m saying is let’s hope it gets better lol!

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
