Trubisky rumors

This argument that Mitch had good WRs is pretty silly.  Very serviceable RB at best as well. If Mitch gets into a situation where is isn't trying too hard he can be good.  How big a step up he is from Teddy is debatable.  Still, he has good upside at 26 in the right offense.

FWIW, I wouldn't hate kicking the tires on Trubisky, Chicago is a place of sorrow and despair for QB's and he came into the NFL with John Fox and now has Matt Nagy, both of which certifiably suck.  Trubisky was always a project that needed extra coaching at the next level, and I dont think he ever got that coaching in the NFL, could be good with Rhule and co.

This same anthony Miller?

anthony Miller has been downright awful. I watch bears game almost as much as panthers. Their WR corps will be overhauled this offseason. They played bad with both foles and Mitch.

david Montgomery was their third best receiver. Trubisky wasn’t the problem, it’s the entire roster of the bears on offense that’s the problem.

So, you're saying that Trubisky isn't a problem? I've seen him play a little, and I'm not sure that he's a legit starter, much less a franchise QB! I distinctly remember his accuracy being all over the place. I'll give him some benefit of doubt for a suboptimal receiving corps, but he's still been sketchy on his reads and with his accuracy. He may be too far gone now.

He went 6-3 with 17 total TDs and 67% completion rate (bears franchise record) this season. He missed some throws, yes.. but it isn’t a mechanics piece. He is also in one of shittiest offensive systems in the league. Hence why Nagy will NOT bc the OC and HC next year. Just the HC.

not saying Mitch is a world beater, but in the next system he plays... I bet he will turn some heads.

The only way I would be onboard with rolling the dice on a Trubisky rehab effort is if we feel certain we can unload Teddy's contract via trade so that he would "only" hit us for $10M this year.

That's the only way man. It would be insane to carry both. Why not just draft QB with a better contract if you're keeping Teddy.

    • Names I'd keep an eye on... Coby White,  Jalen Suggs, Amen Thompson  and Stephen Castle...  3 teams except Orlando has checked on Melo before and rumblings of sours getting rid of fox too. I'd think they think Melo and Wemby would make them nuclear out west.
    • Well he somehow had 12 preseason carries for not playing. He also has 20 carries in the regular season, not three. He has actually played in about 7% of the offensive snaps for this regular season(33% of the special teams snaps). This isn't stuff you have to make up, these are very easily referenced statistics, man.
    • It's not common for a RB to recover from two ACL tears in the same knee. It's fairly rare. You are correct that it isn't the career ender that it used to be but there is also the fact that we appear to have largely moved on with the additions of Dowdle and Etienne.  Dobbins is a very good example. He has basically missed 54% of his career regular season games since he came into the league in 2020. It will end up being 57% at the conclusion of this season. It's a big contributing factor to why he is on this third NFL team in 6 years. It's certainly possible that may be 4 by the beginning of next season. I would say there is very little chance that Brooks ever contributes in any meaningful way in Carolina. Possibly with another team but I am extremely skeptical of his future here because of those injuries and because of the roster.
