Going in as the starter =/= no moves at QB.

It's Febuary 19th. Free Agency hasn't started. We don't know what the hell is gonna happen with the combine. We don't know what's happening with Watson. We don't know what's happening at 3 or possibly 2 yet. There's a lot of dominoes still to fall.

We have no idea what's  gonna happen with QBs all over the leauge, not just here.

Proof in some cases he is not skilled or knowledgeable enough to have that job?

In implies involved. Asking a 90 second question isn't in, its seeing if you want in. It's a dumb moto and horrific way to proceed as GM.

Why is it horrible to ask a question to see if you might potentially be interested? Where's the harm? This just seems like getting bent out of shape over nothing.

That's not in. That's standing in the doorway deciding if you want in.

People act like our O-Line was the worst line in the NFL last year or something.  I seem to remember a 3 or 4 game stretch last year where we did not give up one single sack.  We will have one anchor with Moton at T, there are options to be had out there to bolster the rest of it.  Personally, I don't think the OL situation is as bad as some around here make it out to be.

We have one guy under contract.  How the hell can you say anything other than our oline is a catastrophe at the moment?

Yep.  I think we are picking in the top 10 again next year regardless of who is the qb unless its Watson.

well, I think our defense is just going to get better.

also, unless we sit CMC all year....despite check down Teddy.....I think we win more games.   We were in too many this past year.   Adding CMC and some of those are going to fall the other way IMO.

This is the year for Rhule to get his QB IMO one, way or another.

    • Care to elaborate why you disagree? We kicked the ball off 3 times and we kept the Browns to starting field position of the 22, 27, and 10 (would have been 21 before a penalty). All 3 of those are successes with the modern kickoff rule.
    • Its August so obviously quality options are not there. The question is whether any improvement can be made to the bottom of the depth chart.
    • NFL has a huge amount of parity.  The talent level between most NFL starters outside of the top 5 to 10 guys at a position is very comparable.  2020 worst teams Jacksonville Jaguars - 1-15 (worst record in NFL) New York Jets - 2-14 Cincinnati Bengals - 4-11-1 Atlanta Falcons - 4-12 Houston Texans - 4-12 Carolina Panthers - 5-11 Detroit Lions - 5-11 Philadelphia Eagles - 4-11-1 Los Angeles Chargers - 7-9 Denver Broncos - 5-11 2024 Worst teams New York Giants - 3-14 (tied for worst) Cleveland Browns - 3-14 (tied for worst) Tennessee Titans - 3-14 (tied for worst) New England Patriots - 4-13 Carolina Panthers - 5-12 Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-13 Las Vegas Raiders - 4-13 New York Jets - 5-12 Chicago Bears - 5-12 Arizona Cardinals - 8-9 Bengals, Texans, Lions, Eagles, Broncos and the Jags have all made the the playoffs in the last 3 years. What I'm saying is it's stupid to argue when team is the worst when there is so much parity and the system allows quick turnarounds.
