If this isn't the year...

I might like Sam Howell better than any of the current three behind Lawrence.

I have Howell/Wilson really really close, and could see Howell edging him out due to Wilson's previous shoulder injury.

Howell and Shough above Fields or Lance.

Rattler above all of them except for Lawrence.

Let's say we don't get a true franchise quarterback this year but we do get somebody who's decent and an improvement over Bridgewater...

Will that be enough to hold you until we can try again next year or in the near future?

Or will it be torches and pitchforks time?

I just want to see an improvement of the team.

The QB is the final piece of a Championship team, but it isn't the only piece.

I'd be fine with them starting Bridgewater next year - but I don't think that's going to happen regardless. It's pretty clear that something has gone on behind the scenes and feelings have been hurt.

This franchise is about 28 years old.  Kerry Collins and Cam Newton are the only franchise QBs we drafted in the first round.  No wonder we have no rings.

We have been to 2 super bowls, 1 was a first overall pick and the other was an undrafted QB who sat the bench in NFL Europe before getting a bench job in the NFL behind the unimpressive Aaron Brooks.   So who knows what the formula is.  We have a big cap number available next year--so if we could get the QB now, we can sign the missing pieces in free agency in 2022.  I see that as our best chance for a ring.

I prefer moving up in the draft if Watson is not available. I think we should send 3 first rounders, Thompson, Bridgewater, CMC and maybe even CB Jackson to Jacksonville for Trevor.

For Wilson, I might offer the same veterans and 2 first rounders.

For Lance, same thing.

For Fields, I have lost interest.  I think he falls to us and I think we might take him at #8,  (everyone thinks, what about Philly?  Detroit?  Philly and Detroit have better QBs than Fields right now, imo).

Not a chance

This scenario along with CMC returning after being out hurt much of last year.

Very Very unlikely we are drafting in the top 10 again.  More likely the 12 range.

Now some here are getting sticker shock now about what it would take for QB3 this year....... From 8.

Now, what do you think it'll look like to move from 12?

Its going to be a haul

And if your nervous now giving up that much, your're not going to be happy then.

It better be Derek Carr or better.

Nothing less.

That dude gives me some serious Will Grier vibes. Looking strictly at college tape of course. Both have/had a gorgeous deep ball. They’re play styles look extremely similar to me. Could be wrong though.

If we were in a better place as a team, I'd be fine with trading up or trading away picks.

We have too many needs right now, but that doesn't mean we won't be in a better place later.

But are we really going to fill That many more needs this year that justifies Paying even More for a QB down the road.

Yes we may get a top CB this year and not give up next years 1st and 3rd and maybe this years 3rd or 4th.

But is that 1 CB that we held out for worth now traded up from said 1st next year (that would be used to move this year for a QB)  then the following 1st and potentially a 3rd 1 or a 2nd or 2 similar to the Rams trade up for Goff.

At some point your going to have to pay the piper irregardless.  You may as well get it while its cheaper.

    • Love the Freeling pick even more after watching his pressers. Dude is sharp and definitely seems to have the right mentality. I loved hearing how personal he took having a bad game with a torn labrum and instead of seeing that as the reason for his bad game and not changing anything, it motivated him to work even harder. Such a great pick, we finally got our all pro level LT for the next decade and now we can move Ickey to RT or guard with no hurt feelings due to his injury. Second favorite pick is probably Brazzell. He said he false started on his 40 and it cost him probably 0.04 seconds, so he’s more of a 4.33 guy rather than 4.37. Really Randy Moss lite. I didn’t know anything about him prior to drafting him and first highlight reel I saw of him I immediately thought he looked like Moss. Then I saw the measurables and was like yep. Then I see that he’s drawn that comparison by many scouts and analysts. If he can add consistency and play to the level of his highlights every play then we got an incredible value.
    • During his three years at UGA he only allowed 5 sacks. He is only 21 and is on an upward trajectory. He's a great athlete that was good basketball player in high-school.  His height (76% how is this only 76%???? these guys are giants now), hands (81%), span (99%), speed (96%), quickness (10 yd. 86%), and explosiveness (vert. 96%, broad 97%) are all outstanding.  When we took Freeling, Fano, Mauioga, Proctor, and Miller were all off the board so we could have drafted Iheanachor or Lomu instead or waited to the second or third round to take Bell, Tiernan or Barber or wait even longer.  A lot of these tackles (including the first two taken) project to right tackle or guard in the NFL and that's not what we needed now.  Freeling has some sloppiness to clean up in his run blocking, but he's young and getting better.  We can let him get experience behind Walker and Moton knowing if he has to replace one of the two this year, his pass blocking won't get Bryce killed. Icky's not coming back from that injury as a nfl starting left tackle and Moton is in the twilight of his career.  If Walker has a great year, we will have to pay him a lot and if he is medicore we would want to let him walk.  Getting a LT on a rookie contract is going to help a lot with the cap.
    • It was cool but they have done this at least in recent years unless I am imagining it
