He was the second highest paid TE in the League last year.  Guys hoping he'll come here for peanuts is a pipe dream.  Mind you we have already signed depth, we need a stater though.   Here are the 2021 FA TEs: (You may have to toggle to the TEs)

2021 FA TEs

We don’t have a TE on the roster worth keeping

every QB needs a quality TE and we need one

id consider Pitts big time at #8

What I meant is this guy the olson version we released?

Ah, well I think his value is less of that than at least 3 of the other TE UFAs.  He had a good stretch but he's nothing that great IMO.  He's above average, got injured last season, and will be 32 for 2021.  Not worth the money.  I'd much rather target Gerald Everett or Jonnu Smith.  Although, I can't say we invest a lot of dinero at the position.  We'll see, not a huge Rudolph fan.

Rudolph has gotten really old and slow.  Has not had more than 400 yards receiving in either of the last 2 years.  4 years ago, hell yeah, now, hard pass.

I don't think he's gotten that slow, plus we don't need a super fast and athletic field stretching TE, we already have that in our receivers and McCaffrey. Rudolph offers the main thing we don't have on offense and that's a big possession target and red zone threat. Don't need speed to box a guy out in the end zone...

If he would come here on a deal where he would have a 2 - 3 million cap hit, sure.  But more than likely it would be at least double that and until we figure out or QB situation I don't know that we are going to get any skill position players flocking to be here unless we throw a whole bunch of money at them.

Don't worry, we signed Stephen Sullivan already. We're good.

    • I think Indiana will win it all but Miami should give them a much better fight than Oregon did.
    • When I tell people I was at that game, they usually say oh that’s so cool you had the experience. I call it soul crushing. Why? The weeks and months leading up to it were great, the team was fun to watch every week…some weeks the offense was unstoppable and carried the team (saints and giants road games), other times the defense carried the load (jaguars, tampa). Lots of back and forth games against good teams (Seattle and Indy). Good young players on the team, but the veteran leadership was incredible…from Cam, Olsen, Kalil and J Stew to Luke, TD, Norman, Tillman, Jared Allen, CJ. Role players like Fozzy Whitaker, Cotchery (he caught that MFer), Philly brown, Kyle love, AJ Klein, and so on.  The Friday before the nfc championship my wife and I after a few drinks said let’s see what prices look like for flights/accommodations and we got to talking about how much prices would increase if we waited until we found out if we would be in the big game. We said screw it, we are only out $200 if we have to cancel.  Of course we come out and just pulverized the cardinals in front of the most raucous crowd by far we’ve ever had. We had no idea what we would do for game tickets and then found out a neighbor who worked for the team could get us 2 for face value (each employee got two of their own for free, something cool that JR did).  But then the NFL mafia decided that the storyline of manning going out on top like Elway would give them more goodwill than a non traditional QB who didn’t connect with their target demo and the rest is history. I never have and never will watch that game again. I am just hoping I can see them win one in the 2nd half of my life.
