REPORT: Panthers remain interested in Deshaun Watson trade

From McClain's article (link)

I believe Watson is still destined to be traded, but rather than by the draft as I’ve been predicting, I now think it could be during the season at the trade deadline or before the 2022 draft. Teams will want Watson to have his legal issues settled, and they’ll want to know the results of the NFL’s investigation for possible violation of the league’s personal conduct policy.

Timing of everything has been just too screwy. Wouldn't surprise me that there isn't much in the way of fire to that smoke.

I hope there isn't and that we are one of the few that know it and we steal him away for a bargain.

succinct & well said & i couldn't agree more

It’s a bad look for any team that trades for him right now. It’s not going to be cleared up by the draft so if someone trades for him they are ok with all of these accusations. It could also have a very bad locker room effect on the team he goes to.

Donald Trump had 20 women accuse him of sexual misconduct prior to his 2016 election & he still was elected the 45th President of the United States

fast forward to right now as we speak & that list has grown to 26 & not a single thing has happened  to him or his political career as a result of these allegations in which he claims are a lie.

so this is a prime example 'of how difficult it really is to prove these he says she says cases...just saying

Yeah looking like this lawyer is screwy, tried to tell you. Keep your speculation up though, doesn’t look good to say someone is guilty before the FACTS come out!

A Texans fanboy lawyer is suing the QB that wants to leave his favorite team. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist...

It would actually be really dumb.

Before wasting cap space paying someone through legal proceedings, a team should at least wait and see if the jury deems this as something that goes to criminal charges.

And no, the Panthers don’t have ‘inside info’ on 22 women and a jury that doesn’t exist yet lol.

What jury? These are all civil suits IIRC.

I'm surprised with how much bad stuff has come out about this lawyer that more people aren't skeptical. How many lies does he need to be caught in?

You do realize that everyone was calling the lawyer screwy, right?

    • I am not sure it should be a ‘sell out to go to the SB’ season. And hope they don’t.  At the same time I was thinking you absolutely must find out if you want to pay for Bryce or not. That means putting it on him. No protecting and trying to hide weaknesses with the run game and a super conservative calls.  So I wish they would do it and find out, win or lose, 2026. No more developing. Time to do it. Let’s see once and for all.
    • My biggest fear with Bryce Young is that he will always do just enough to stick around. He shows flashes and then drops a turd so the hopium is always there. Like his career highlight reel if you cut it up to some hype music and did a YouTube video would actually be quite good. His great plays really, really look good. But after that video you look at his yearly averages for completion percentage, yardage, touchdowns, and virtually every other metric and it is meh as fug. Like you know Bryce is gonna be 13/23 for 157 yards a touchdown and probably a pick.  I will 100% give him his flowers for his athleticism and ability to scramble outside the pocket. I haven’t seen the mythical “super processing ability” he was touted for per se, but he has shown flashes of absolutely elite awareness when it comes to scrambling. The little basketball move he does to shake defensive linemen has almost become a signature move. It’s hard to explain but you know it when you see it he stops on a dime and pivots like he is gonna hit a step back jumper and it has gotten him out of a lot of trouble.  I sincerely, truly, as a vocal Bryce HATER, hope that since we are obviously running with him next year the coaching staff actually tailors plays around his strengths. He needs to be in a pure spread IMO. His size is much less of a hindrance when he can play QB in open space. I feel like most of his highlight reel is from scrambles and play action/bootlegs.
