Wait, hold up.  So this dude is an inch taller than slater but is weaker, less athletic and has shorter arms than him.

Tell me again why we didnt draft slater?  Goddamn after looking over this I am hating this draft.    We could have had slater in the first and Joseph or Samuel in the 2nd.

The arm length measurable thing is such an overrated stat in my book.  If the guy can hold his block 3-5 seconds consistently, he's good enough.  The QB has to get the dam ball out faster.

All he has to be is strong, mean and can hold his own.  The kid should be able to do the well enough.  We shall see.

And alot ppl here wanted Slater who had the same exact question about Arm length and if he's really a guard..

He’s gonna be 25 when the season starts. He should be a starter almost immediately at LG and maybe eventually LT

That's my thought.  He's undersized and should slide ahead of Daley at LG.   My question is if we're seriously looking at either Trent Scott or Erving at LT.  And I assume we'll see how Brady C. looks there.

Still have some draft to go as well but LT still seems like an evolving situation.  We have the talent on the squad for a starting RG (Miler) and LG (Daley/Christensen/Eiflen).  Just thought we'd look at some of the guys in the 2nd like Radunz, Jenkins, or Eichenberg; but honestly, they're all kind of undersized for LT this year.

Seems like we really are treating Erving as this "slide him where we didn't land a guy" flex lineman.

I also wouldn't rule out Okung coming back.

    • He has attempted 8 shootout goals in his NHL career and made 1. He is among our worst SO guys on the entire roster in terms of career stats.
    • Against Miami, the Panthers were behind by 17 in the 2nd quarter facing a 4th - 5. Young completed a 21 yard pass and they went on to score 7 on that drive. Then in the 4th, down by 4, they faced a 4th - 5 and again, he completed a 17 yard pass and they went onto score a TD for the win. He also accounted for 2 of the 3 TD's.  As I said, he got them in that mess and no doubt, Rico gets credit as well, but missing on either of those 4th down conversions hands the ball over and results in 1 or 2 less TD's giving them a loss. As you said though, that's just a small quibble. The real question is how does the FO see it?  I am guessing they see it as something to build on. I think most peope here see it as a total loss and fully expect the FO to see it that way as well. Time will tell.
    • Kochetkov is just too streaky. TBD if Freddie is doing that too. Freddie is the more reliable goalie over his career. The Bussi kid looks like he could be a solid #2 eventually.  Just need to figure out the #1 guy. Same as almost every year. It's not talent, it's consistency and being able to step up in the playoffs.
