Terrible pick. Smith was way better. Brown legitimately looked terrible at the Senior Bowl. Unless he’s losing 40 pounds he won’t make the team. Movement skills were non-existent.

This is like taking Gaulden.

What’s the RAS score difference?

What about His health concerns? 🤨

I think I will trust the judgement of the people who were at the Senior Bowl over some random dude on a message board, but thanks for your analysis.

He never missed a game and in the 6th, I would have much rather taken a chance on a guy who was much more athletic than a guy who looked terrible at the Senior Bowl. In the 6th, you are taking shots in the dark.

Below is from an article I just googled and was spot on. I did see some articles about him losing 20 pounds after Senior Bowl but he looked flat out bad during the game. Maybe he he didn’t take it seriously had way too much help around him at Bama and has come to the realization that he’s done with football year 1 if he plays like the Senior Bowl.

Deonte Brown, G, Alabama

Deonte Brown was getting some buzz late in the college season, but his Senior Bowl performance likely snuffed that out like a wet blanket over a fire. The former Alabama guard looked slow, and there were already low expectations about his movement skills. Furthermore, Brown was known as a power player but really failed to show that this past week. The hulking guard looked off balance and slow to the punch on more than one occasion, leaving his projection teetering on the cliff of a day two selection.

Yes you would rather take a chance on a player with a debilitating medical condition that isn't going away in the most violent position on the field.. The same condition countless of ppl have died from..

Okay...

    • After watching Dan for 3 yrs now, I think I understand his plan. It’s a simple plan that should work for the long run.     I saw some of this last yr. Dan wants a vet and a young player at each position. I really think we go OT if one they like there. Moton is aging, Icky will not be back until 27, if ever. We need to get ahead of the tackle problem
    • You are just stressing too much about these particular positions. You want to upgrade from Bryce and I understand that but you aren’t going to really get that without getting into a bidding war for a QB2 potential QB1 like Willis. You could possibly trade for Mills or the backup for Chicago but they are still gambles and their teams will won’t decent picks.  Again the Eagles thought KP was a capable enough backup to trade for him once their backup was hurt and won a Super Bowl with him as QB2. The point is most teams aren’t rolling with some stud QB2/3 that is going to push even a bottom tier starter. They are better off the building their roster in other areas. The Rams are rolling with Bennett right now as QB2 for example.  The goal is winning absolutely. We overachieved last year even with stumbling into the playoffs. Another year and this staff needs to take the next step in building a team. Will Grier has little to no impact on that….
    • Three straight first round WRs is straight up Matt Millen poo. Considering the draft capital we have tied up on Bryce after that trade we would basically have spent damn near all of our draft capital in recent years on QB and WR just to put one of the most anemic passing offenses in the league on the field. Clown show poo.
