apparently there was some drama in our draft room

Good. If there isn't some back and forth during the draft then you probably have an envirot of a bunch of useless yes men.

I don't even know who was in the "war room".

But I doubt after going all defense last year, if Joe Brady was there, I doubt  he had his feet up and was like... first round corner? Whatever ya'll think.  Trade down 20 spots in the 2nd? cool.   I don't care what they told me...at some point I would be like, you mofos are never going to draft an offensive player are you?

I would imagine Joe and Phil would prefer two very different drafts.

Fit's draft was Ballsy...no doubt about it! If Brady or Cam Erving don't pan out and our left side remains weak it'll make life tougher on Darnold....A lot of critics will point to this part of the Draft. If they play great and this is the beginning of a playoff run then WoW! I'm hoping for Wow!

If I'm Joe and Phil was banging the table for a defensive guy in the 2nd it would've gone something like

"Phil, love ya bro but we've made 8 draft picks since we've been here and not a damn one of them plays on my side of the ball. So with all due respect and all, please STFU."

Tepper it sounds like. Who else would be pissed that means anything? Brady?

I mean, I doubt Rhule and the new GM even agree on every decision in real time.   Then you have the natural O and D splits.

I know there were people in the room who loved Walker Little, and I think that's where the anger stems from. Still though, Marshall was an excellent selection where we got him, and I am not so sure we are done at LT.

Maybe trade down to the 20th pick Fit was confident that Walker Little would be there.  Miscalculation I guess.  And once a couple were gone he traded down again.

I fugging told y’all. Outsmarted themselves with that first trade down in the second. That’s why this draft is a low grade for me.

Oh you told us. We all feel stupid now. And as for all the A- to A+ grades our draft has consistently gotten, you better go email the likes of CBS etc and tell them to.

Look, draft grades obviously don’t mean poo but the reality is this draft was objectively good, even if it didn’t fall how you wanted it to. It’s done now regardless. But I suspect our staff is very happy with the results. As they should be. They did great.

I honestly don't think there was much of a dropoff from Jenkins to Christensen (and everybody that went in-between them). I would have liked to have had Jenkins because he is a mauler in the run game, but I absolutely am pleased with the trade getting Marshall and Christensen in the process! I am still pretty shocked Marshall slipped out of the first round and a receiver like Toney went way ahead of him.

I am expecting at least two more signings (LT & S)

    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
    • I hear you but yeah like you say, above average. His numbers were good. You’d think it would be a no brainer. Anyhow… I guess the new staff is also fine with him walking?    I hope if we sign him there isn’t some secret issue of his that led to him not being valued.
