D.Watson are we still interested ?

I have never been on board to gut our team just to get Watson. My inner feeling is that Darnold is going to work out just fine.

Plus, we are putting pieces in place for him to succeed, lets not mess it up and bring in the malcontented Watson who may decide later this is not the place for him, just like he did in Houston.

Edit to add: Watson has also now lost all of his leverage and has to focus on rehabbing his image.

Further, ‘Appaloosa’ is a brand that Tepper does not want tarnished, either.  No single player will be allowed to potentially wreck the image of either brand.  Even if Watson is all that the OP believes he is and a bag of chips, it just doesn’t make business sense from a risk / reward standpoint.  The boards and investment committees of pension and retirement plans managed by Appaloosa would be up Tepper’s arse if the Panthers acquired a ‘known abuser of women.’   Will not be a surprise to many but boards are hyper political and cowardly.  For better or worse, the Watson ship has sailed and won’t be returning.

Being a high profile face of a franchise requires better judgement than what Watson has displayed over the course of the last year.  He has created a huge distraction for a team that just signed him to a record contract less than a year ago. 

When you hire a clown, expect a circus.

For that reason alone, the Carolina Panthers should pass on Watson.

CK had kneeled prior to the Denver talks.  Not to mention he also had an opportunity on the table with the Ravens that Ray Lewis himself helped him get until Colin’s girlfriend starting tweeting out that the Ravens owner was a racist and compared Ray Lewis to Samuel L Jackson’s character in Django.  
 

Not to mention his whole bogus workout the other year for teams where he changed locations at the last second and tried to impose his own rules on the scouts and he essentially just ended up filming a commercial for himself.   Because it’s totally normal for free agents to bring their own film crews to record them up close while they’re moving and throwing while auditioning for a job you apparently wanted so bad.

Why do at least two articles say that he started kneeling after the Denver talks? 

Why do you think the NFL settled with him if he wasn't being blackballed by the league?

Furthermore, this thread isn't even really about Kap. That was an aside that apparently triggered some feelings (and rightfully so...).

His protests began in August of 2016.
