PFF50: The 50 best players in the NFL right now | NFL News, Rankings and Statistics | PFF

Last season was an injury bust, but McCaffrey is still arguably the most complete running back in the NFL today. He is an elite receiver, but he has also carried a full workload from the backfield, unlike other elite receiving options like Alvin Kamara or Austin Ekeler. McCaffrey has dropped just nine of the 388 targets sent his way in the NFL (2.7% of catchable targets) and averaged 2.6 yards after contact per carry. With an improved scheme and talent group around him, the Panthers' fanbase can rightly hope for a big bounce-back season from their star back.

These rankings are based almost entirely on winning and losing. That's what people remember is if you win not how many yards you put up. How is this a foreign concept after ten years of Cam Newton? Do better in the division and finish games and they will be listed higher.

Healthy he's a top 5.

Eh....IDK about that. Top 5 in the NFL, offense and defense.....that's a pretty tall order. IMO, he should be safely top 15-20.

I feel like mixing all NFL players versus splitting the offensive and defensive players makes ranking them tougher, as well.

CMC is clearly a top 10 offensive player in the NFL, IMO.

Here are his highlights from 2019 (the 1k +1k year). If he can come back close to that level this year and stay healthy it will make all the difference for our offense---He and DJ and the rest were working with mostly Kyle Allen back then.

He had an insane amount of snaps that year we based our whole offense around him. He had 1039 snaps and 403 physical touches and we won a whopping 5 games. There is this wild concept in football called versatility that coaches of winning teams tend to emphasize. I imagine Matt Rhule has this in mind.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
