Is Terrace Marshall the rookie most likely to succeed?

Extremely unlikely. Hard to put up numbers for OROY in a class stacked with starting QB's(for better or worse) and also being maybe the 4th option on the team. Maybe he ends up being such an effective redzone weapon(lots of TD's) that he comes closer than expected. 

I think Horn is going to struggle a lot more in year one that people want to admit. It's rare to have an instant impact CB that plays at a very high level. It's more common to see them starting hitting their stride in seasons 2-4. Plus, getting those accolades at CB usually means a shitload of INT's. It's hard to fight through the LB's and pass rushers, as they are much more likely to rack up gaudy stats.

typically, yes. but this was a QB/WR draft class. No elite DE that typically get the ROY as long as they get 6 sacks. every other position is overshadowed because ROY is awarded to box scores.

None of that makes one bit of difference in regards to Marshall Jr. That kid is special. He may not beat all those dinky azz QBs. BUT the kid is going to be good, real good.

I swear every pre season we hear about how great a WR looks in camp and they end up sucking and sometimes not even making the team. I remember as far back as hearing Walter Young getting praise in 2003. 
 

I do think Marshall has potential to be great but I don’t think he will put up big numbers this year considering he will be the # 3 WR at best and we have Darnold at QB who is a question mark. Maybe DJ Moore or Anderson gets injured and he becomes the #2 while Darnold has a great year. That’s one way he could have a great season. However right now we don’t know if David Moore will beat him for the #3 WR spot. David Moore can make big plays and has lots of nfl experience. So chances are he could be the #4 WR this season behind David Moore.

You are correct. There are multiple players ahead of Terrace. So his targets won't be as plentiful. However, Sam needs a safety net. And right now, we don't know who that is. THAT WR is going to get his. Everybody else is fighting for table scraps.

 

The two players with the biggest catch radius? Arnold, and Terrace. If I had to guess, it won't be Arnold.

 

So...ipso facto. Marshall is the man.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised that Horn is holding, that was something that he apparently was known for in college. I suspect he is gonna struggle with that all season while he tries to break old habits. So not much to write home about Hubbard either? How about our LS battle?

Defensive backs is probably one of the most difficult positions to transition from college to the NFL.  He's a stud and will be a mainstay on our defense for a long time but his rookie year might be a learning lesson for him.

Marshall has Moore and Anderson to take the pressure off him.  Our WR Corps could be the best we have had in years (decades).  This IMO is why Marshall will be our best draft pick in 2021.

However, I do believe that many of our picks will see significant playing time and 2021 will become our best draft ever.

      Round 1. TMac arguably the best WR in the draft Round 2. Scour ton mentioned as a possible 1st round edge.     Texas A&M did not use him the same way Purdue did. After the 2023 season he was listed as a first round grade. I believe had Texas A&M used him like they did at Purdue he never makes it out of round 1. Round 3 Princely Umanmielen, we'll go by Princely.  Another highly graded player we got in a lower round. As the video suggests, even if he plays only on passing down it's a positive. Give him a couple of years to develop a he could be a three down player.  Round 4a Etienne IMO a huge upgrade over Blackshear. I can see him in a similar role as CMC without the heavy workload. He can run in between the tackles and has some shifty moves. Give Canales some flexibility. A fellow huddler pointed out UGA running backs don't see the field if they cannot pick up the blitz. Really good pick. Round 4b Ransom a hard hitting safety that has played three different positions on defense. Great pick Round 5a Cam Jackson a massive NT in round 5. I believe a solid rotational pick in a lower round. We added a beast that could make offenses quiver when he's lined up with Brown. Great Value  Round 5b Evans This is another player that can block and has good hands. He also had better seasons before 2024. As a rookie he's probably leaps and bounds better than Ian Thomas. I think he gives us a three headed monster at TE.  Round 6 Horn Jr. Many believe he's just going to be a KR/PR player. I believe there are going to be packages for him to get on the field as a WR. His speed with TMac and Thielen in the slot could be special. I'm really looking forward to seeing him in training camp. I've watched some film and he is very explosive.  Overall I love our picks. I honestly believe all of them will contribute this season. I don't believe we reached on one player in this draft.  This weekend we get a small look at these rookies
